We were lucky to catch up with Mollie Ficocello recently and have shared our conversation below.
Mollie , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
At 3 Farm Daughters, our mission has always been clear: bring better food to the table by staying true to our roots. Growing up on a farm, we saw firsthand how much care goes into growing wheat, and we wanted to create pasta that reflects that same quality and transparency. Traditional pasta often sacrifices nutrition for convenience by layering in unneeded enhancers or additives, and we knew there had to be a better way. So we set out to make a product that was not only delicious but also naturally high in fiber and protein—without additives or over-processing. Our mission is to reconnect people with real food, and we’re proud to be a brand that prioritizes quality, family, and wholesome nutrition in every bite.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
At 3 Farm Daughters, we’re on a mission to bring better pasta to the table—nutrient-rich, naturally high in fiber and protein, and made with simple, high-quality wheat grown right here in the U.S. Our story is deeply rooted in agriculture, family, and a passion for better food. As three sisters who grew up on our family farm in North Dakota, we saw firsthand the care and craftsmanship that goes into growing wheat on our family farm, and we wanted to take that same dedication to create a pasta that’s better for you without sacrificing taste or texture.
Unlike traditional pastas that often rely on artificial fortification to add nutrients, we take a different approach. Our pasta is made from premium wheat varieties, carefully selected and minimally processed that has naturally occurring fiber and protein—meaning you get a more nutritious product without additives. Plus, we bronze-cut our pasta, giving it a rougher, more porous texture that holds sauces beautifully, creating a restaurant-quality experience at home.
We’re proud to be a female-founded, farm-connected company that puts transparency, quality, and better nutrition at the forefront. Our biggest goal is to redefine what pasta can be—not just a comfort food but a wholesome, nutritious staple that supports a healthier lifestyle.
For us, it’s more than just making pasta—it’s about bringing people back to the table with real food, real ingredients, and a real connection to where their food comes from.
We hope that when people try 3 Farm Daughters, they taste the difference, feel good about what they’re eating, and join us in reshaping the way we think about pasta.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Starting 3 Farm Daughters wasn’t just about making great pasta—it was about challenging an industry dominated by mass production and creating something that we knew our family and other families were looking for. One of our biggest hurdles came early on when we had to convince manufacturers to work with us. Many were hesitant because we didn’t come with a food background. We were new to this. We weren’t using traditional refined flours or artificial additives; we were committed to maintaining the natural fiber and protein of our wheat. That meant finding the right partners who shared our vision and could scale with us. We knocked on doors, tested batches, adjusted formulations, and kept pushing until we found the perfect fit. That process took resilience, but it reinforced our mission: if we weren’t willing to fight for this, who would? Today, we’re proud to be delivering real, nutrient-rich pasta to families across the country—and we wouldn’t change that journey for anything.

We’d love to hear your thoughts about selling platforms like Amazon/Etsy vs selling on your own site.
We started selling directly through our website because we wanted to build a direct relationship with our customers. Food is personal, and we wanted to make sure people could connect with our brand, our story, and our products in a way that felt authentic. As we grew, we expanded to Amazon and select retail stores to reach more customers. Each platform has its advantages—our website gives us control over our brand experience, Amazon offers visibility, reach, and convenience, and retail helps us reach shoppers who still love discovering products in-store. The key is balancing those channels so we’re where customers need us, while maintaining the quality and trust that make 3 Farm Daughters special. No matter where people find us, we want them to feel like they’re bringing home something truly better for their family.
