We recently connected with Diana & Natalia Mejia and have shared our conversation below.
Diana & Natalia, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Alright, so you had your idea and then what happened? Can you walk us through the story of how you went from just an idea to executing on the idea
The story of Tiny Mighty Events began at the height of the pandemic, during a visit to my aunt and uncle in northern Florida. Like many seeking a change of scenery, I found myself scrolling through Instagram, where inspiration struck in an unexpected form: a beautifully remodeled Shasta trailer turned mobile bar run by two entrepreneurial women. The concept resonated deeply, blending hospitality and event planning with vintage charm. I knew I had stumbled upon something special.
Eager to transform this inspiration into reality, I immersed myself in research. The idea of creating a unique mobile bar and my passion for event planning was the perfect venture. Searching for the right trailer began a more challenging task than expected.
As the vision for the business grew, I realized the importance of having a partner who could complement my skills and share the dream. Natalia Mejia, a former colleague known for her discipline, creativity, and drive, came to mind. Though we often joked about being cousins due to our shared last name, our professional synergy was no joke. When I pitched the idea to Natalia, her enthusiastic “yes” was the confidence boost I needed. This partnership is a key element in our success, showing the value of collaboration in entrepreneurship.
With Natalia’s marketing and sales expertise and my background in marketing and event planning, we formed a formidable team. Together, we began offering a full suite of event planning services, from selecting the perfect venue to negotiating with vendors, all while providing our signature mobile bar experience. We tailor each event, helping companies execute successful corporate gatherings, team-building events, and grand celebrations. We compile a variety of venue options and pricing structures to meet our clients’ needs, ensuring everything from cocktails to decor is just right. Together, we brainstormed names that captured our full-service event management company’s essence. We wanted a name that reflected our ability to create unforgettable moments with our mobile bar and beverage service, offering everything from custom cocktails to decor, all served from a vintage 1969 Boler trailer. Thus, Tiny Mighty Events was born, encapsulating the spirit of our venture: an all-in-one Party Powerhouse where Event Excellence meets Bar Brilliance.

The journey from idea to execution was a series of leaps of faith. We navigated permits, restored our trailer—which we affectionately named Miss Nippy—and designed our first custom bar menu. We decided to officially launch at a Bridal Expo despite not being ready when we signed up to participate. It was the pressure we needed to push forward, and we achieved it. Each step, though challenging, was exhilarating and rewarding, driving us to move forward. The joy and satisfaction in achieving these milestones is what fuels our passion and keeps us moving forward.
Today, under the banner of Tiny Mighty Events, we serve a range of beverages from Miss Nippy, creating memorable experiences at events of all sizes. Beyond our mobile bar, we also offer comprehensive event planning services. Big or small, we plan it all, tailoring each event to our client’s unique needs and visions. The transition from corporate life to entrepreneurship has been both humbling and exhilarating. Our story is a testament to passion and partnership, showing that unexpected inspirations can lead to extraordinary journeys.

Diana & Natalia, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Our journey into the world of Tiny Mighty Events is a story of passion, creativity, and partnership. It all started with a shared vision to bring something unique and memorable to the events industry. Let us take you through how our paths converged and how we built a brand that stands out in South Florida.
My journey into the world of marketing and events began in the hospitality industry, where I worked as a front desk clerk at a hotel in Orlando, Florida. That role gave me a firsthand look at customer service and event logistics, and it sparked an interest that would shape my entire career. With a degree in Communications and Journalism, I’ve spent over 15 years crafting marketing and communication strategies across various industries, from entertainment to aviation. My experience spans both traditional and digital marketing, and I’ve had the opportunity to plan and execute high-profile corporate events, conferences, and tradeshows. Managing budgets, coordinating logistics, and ensuring every event runs smoothly became my specialty. Before starting Tiny Mighty Events, I worked for several multinational companies, including in the airline industry, where I met Natalia, and the foundation of our partnership was laid.
What sets me apart is my ability to combine creativity with practical execution. I love creating events and campaigns that are visually captivating, while also being meticulously organized. This blend of creativity and strategic planning is what makes Tiny Mighty Events stand out. Whether it’s an intimate gathering or a large corporate event, we offer a seamless experience with a touch of vintage charm that sets us apart from the rest. What I’m most proud of is the way we’ve managed to build a brand that consistently delivers memorable experiences, while staying true to our vision of creativity and quality service.
Natalia’s journey is equally inspiring. She comes from a background steeped in marketing and sales, with over 20 years of experience in the airline industry. After earning her degree in Communications and Journalism, she pursued a master’s degree in digital marketing and e-commerce, which gave her a broad perspective on both traditional and digital strategies. Throughout her career, she’s honed a strong business acumen and developed a results-driven mindset, always analyzing market trends to stay ahead. Known for her persuasive communication and negotiation skills, Natalia has built many productive relationships that have driven business growth. Before co-founding Tiny Mighty Events, she spent years in airline marketing, learning how to maintain a strong market position, which now helps guide our business strategy.
What sets Natalia apart is her ability to think strategically and stay ahead of market trends. She loves the challenge of creating unique, tailored experiences that resonate with clients. Her business expertise ensures that each event we produce is not only creative but also aligned with industry trends. Whether we’re creating a brand activation or a family celebration, Natalia is always focused on making sure Tiny Mighty Events stays competitive and innovative. She’s most proud of how we’ve taken an idea that began as a passion project and turned it into a thriving business, all while maintaining our personal touch and commitment to excellence.
At Tiny Mighty Events, we are a one-stop solution, from event planning and venue selection to decor, entertainment, and catering. Big or small, we plan it all, ensuring a stress-free experience for our clients across South Florida. We provide a comprehensive solution for clients seeking event planning and beverage services, creating something special for everyone, a service that can adapt to any event, regardless of size.
We specialize in creating unforgettable experiences with our customizable mobile bar and beverage service for a variety of events—whether it’s an intimate wedding, a private party, or a large corporate gathering. Our 1969 vintage Boler trailer, Miss Nippy, which we’ve transformed into a stylish mobile bar, brings a touch of charm and personality to every occasion. We craft signature cocktails, mocktails, as well as coffee, design custom bar setups, and tailor every detail to match the unique style and vision of our clients.
What truly sets us apart is our versatility. While we’re known for our mobile bar service, our trailer is far more than just a bar. It can also serve as a brand ambassador at product launches, becoming a stylish backdrop for brand activations or experiential marketing. For kid’s parties, we can transform it into a fun station, offering coffee, non-alcoholic drinks, and themed activities. And at trade shows, our trailer becomes a magnet for attention, drawing crowds and creating memorable interactions.
Big or small, we plan it all. Whether it’s a tiny gathering or a mighty celebration, we bring the same level of creativity, care, and attention to detail. Our ability to seamlessly adapt to any event—paired with our mobile bar’s irresistible charm—makes Tiny Mighty Events more than just a service. We’re an experience, a conversation starter, and a memorable highlight at any event.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Starting Tiny Mighty Events was as exciting as it was challenging. One of the first hurdles we faced for the mobile bar was finding the perfect trailer. We knew we wanted something with character, but we needed to find one that was small and had a shape that inspired absolute and, most importantly, irresistible cuteness. After looking at trailers online, we found the type we wanted, but the daunting task of finding one in Florida took nearly a year. Finally, we tracked down our 1969 vintage Boler. Once we found it, turning it into a fully functional mobile bar was a whole new challenge—designing the layout, figuring out plumbing and electrical systems, and ensuring it met all the local health and safety regulations.
Our entrepreneurial journey hit a major roadblock when the individual we hired to remodel our trailer into a mobile bar failed to complete the job and refused to return our money. This was an incredibly frustrating and stressful situation, to say the least. However, with the assistance of local authorities, we managed to retrieve our trailer. It was at this critical juncture that Natalia’s husband, an architect, stepped in and completed the remodeling for us. His expertise was a game-changer, and he transformed our vintage Boler into the mobile bar we had envisioned.
Navigating the legal requirements for mobile bars was challenging since the information was unclear. From permits to licenses, we had to understand the intricate rules governing mobile businesses, especially those serving alcohol. Florida is a dry-hire state, meaning we can’t sell alcohol ourselves—our clients purchase it, and we serve it. Ensuring we complied with local laws took a lot of research and patience. We’re both ServSafe Alcohol and ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certified.
Branding was also a big task. We wanted Tiny Mighty Events to stand out while representing what we offer—a comprehensive event management company that crafts memorable experiences through our unique, customizable mobile bar and beverage services, tailored to scale from intimate private events to large corporate gatherings. Finding the right name and developing a brand identity that reflected this took a lot of thought and collaboration.
Then came the logistics of running the business. From managing inventory and sourcing quality ingredients to ensuring smooth operations at events, we had to establish systems that could handle the various aspects of our mobile bar. Learning to handle unpredictable issues—weather, last-minute changes, or technical malfunctions—was part of our growing pains.
Lastly, building a client base requires persistence. Marketing ourselves, networking within the events industry, and showcasing our service to attract new clients was, and continues to be, an ongoing effort.
Despite these challenges, each step taught us valuable lessons. Together, we’ve faced the ups and downs, constantly adapting and finding creative solutions to keep Tiny Mighty Events moving forward.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
One of the most important lessons we’ve learned in our journey from the corporate world to entrepreneurship is the power of adaptability and resilience. In the corporate environment, there are often set structures and processes that guide your work. But as entrepreneurs, we quickly realized that things don’t always go as planned, and success depends on your ability to pivot, problem-solve, and keep pushing forward.
Starting Tiny Mighty Events, we faced everything from logistical challenges, like finding and remodeling our trailer, to navigating regulations, and even dealing with setbacks when things didn’t go as expected. What kept us going was our determination and the ability to adapt. Each hurdle taught us something valuable—whether it was finding creative solutions, leaning on our strengths, or embracing flexibility in how we operate.
Another key lesson is the importance of trusting your instincts and the people you surround yourself with. Coming from the corporate world, we had built a foundation of professionalism and strategic thinking, but entrepreneurship requires a different kind of intuition—trusting your gut and your vision, even when the path isn’t always clear. We also learned that having the right partnership is crucial. We complement each other’s strengths and bring different perspectives to the table, which has been instrumental in overcoming challenges.
Ultimately, the most important lesson is that building a business takes passion, patience, discipline, and the willingness to step outside your comfort zone. Entrepreneurship is not linear, but it’s incredibly rewarding when you see your vision come to life. Each challenge has made us stronger, and we’ve learned to embrace every twist and turn as part of the adventure.
