Today we’d like to introduce you to TaTyana Price.

Hi TaTyana, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I am the founder of TJPRICE Productions media company , created as a one stop business for all your creative, auditory and visual needs. As a child, I always found myself gravitating towards a camera and capturing every moment that happened around me. My career began in middle school at Louis Armstrong Middle school where I was introduced to the world of Performance and Live Entertainment. I indulged myself in any dance productions available. I was taught the introductory fundamentals of sound systems , lighting and productions through a program led by my at the time science teacher, Gregory Grambo. His guidance and teachings sparked my interest in all things live entertainment. By high school , I became a model and dancer for an all female professional dance group named Lush Varsity. By being a part of this dance group, life gravitated me towards people who were willing to influence my growth and development, later on mentoring me as I turned my childhood dream into a reality. I completed my first degree at Kingsborough Community College, specializing in Radio, Tv and Film Production. Following graduation, I transitioned into photography during my undergraduate years at the New York City College of Technology. Post graduation, I continued to create content as well as expanding my brand and clientele. What began as a photography portfolio in 2018 turned into a full media portfolio as of current day. Whenever I pick up a camera my goal is to make my next photo better than my last.. In addition to my brand and business, in 2019, I pitched a self developed media course and currently teach Introduction to Photography/ Film to middle school age students. A curriculum that sparked the interest of the next generation now peaks results, with past students currently enrolled in Media Communication college programs.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
My journey in the media entertainment business has spanned over 6 years. It has been a never ending battle of self development , growth and patience. As technology evolves you are constantly researching techniques to be equipped for the needs and requests of clients. In addition to having to network and advertise for new clientele to remain relevant . As my native New Yorkers can relate, a NYC street can consist of bumper to bumper traffic , speed bumps and potholes. You maneuver and try your best to avoid or anticipate conflict for your travel ahead but one can never truly be prepared for what life has destined. I always stress the importance of remaining grounded and having a mental balance. Prioritizing your mental health , frequent check-ins , adequate time to rest and recover is vital to create that peace amongst any struggle life throws your way. It will build up your endurance to withstand anything that arises.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
TJPrice Productions is a 6 year business I began while transitioning out of college to give myself an advantage in the industry. This company is my baby. Each day I watch it flourish and grow as my goals expand . It challenges me and brings the best out of me all in one sitting. As of today I offer photography , videography , live production and dance services. I made it a priority to be knowledgeable in every field to best accommodate all clients and obtain work. The passion that drives me to continue doing what I love is giving everyone the opportunity to feel comfortable and confident in their own skin and their projects. As well as appreciate the inner talent my perspective can bring out of them. By offering personalized consultations and sessions that meet the needs of each individual, clients can create and be anything they want to be.

How do you think about happiness?
Being at peace makes me the happiest. I don’t strive towards being solely happy as that comes and goes with everyday trials and tribulations. However to be at peace offers a level of contentment no matter what your current circumstance are. Peace throughout accomplishments , downfalls and the day to day of ordinary life allows you to enjoy all that life has to offer. Every moment we have on this earth is to be enjoyed and even the sad moments create a richer happy moment.
