We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Morgan Mcmullen. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Morgan below.
Morgan, appreciate you joining us today. Getting that first client is always an exciting milestone. Can you talk to us about how you got your first customer who wasn’t a friend, family, or acquaintance?
My very first client was referred to me by a family friend! My client had posted on facebook about needing a travel agent and my family friend referred me and gave them my information. It was special because I had never booked or experienced what they were looking for so I was put through the paces and learned a lot along the way!

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Growing up surrounded by entrepreneurial family members, I always knew I wanted to own a business one day. After starting my career as a bank teller in Ohio at Huntington National Bank, I eventually began working for my parents’ company Mid Ohio Golf Car, where I gained valuable experience and earned a degree in Business Management. When my parents offered me and my husband the chance to take over the family business, we decided to decline so we could focus on starting our own family.
After the business was sold, we launched a small automotive repair company, but a few years later we relocated to Florida for my husband’s exciting new career as a private Boat Captain. By 2024, I was ready to return to work and pursue something I was genuinely passionate about. Combining my love for Disney and travel, I joined Magical Park Vacations as a travel agent, helping families create unforgettable memories.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
Building clientele has been a challenge over the past year but you never know where they might come from! Networking events, being active on social media and in my community has been instrumental in helping people learn about what I do and how my knowledge can benefit them in making sure their vacation is seamless and enjoyable!

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
I’ve had to pivot a few times in my career. When we sold Mid Ohio Golf Car, I grieved that like I had lost someone in death. Mid Ohio was incredibly important to me and since my parents had owned that business almost as long as I had been alive, I didn’t know any different. Running Mid Ohio felt like my identity so when it was sold, I kind of lost myself for a while. Starting the new automotive repair business with my husband and being a new mom slightly filled the hole that Mid Ohio had left but it wasn’t until I started my travel business last year that I truly felt complete. I knew I was doing what I loved again.
