Created a Music Facility that catered to advocational musicians along with professional and aspiring musicians.
Long slow climb to get a steady paycheck but 22 years later amazing journey
Covid was not our friend along with many of my clients and Broadway performers along with upcoming musicians careers.
2 studio complex’s later and here we are today with 5 employees and 10 or so contract teachers and techs
With hundreds of shows and thousands of newly trained musicians out there now and continuing to make music
We are the number one avocational music studio and and performance facility in the US and probably the world
That’s a dream realized
Bob

Bob Elliott here Creator of Bob Elliotts Music Makers ( musicmakersny.com) a state of the rt music rehearsal facility here in the heart of NYC’s Times Square District,
We serve the entire music industry from touring bands to local upcoming acts, along with the broadway super stars and off broadway hopefuls just starting out with their first run throughs. We can accommodate from 2 people to as many as 25 instruments and or singers, we have what it takes to make your rehearsal time count at very affordable pricing.
Along with our top of the line rehearsal studios we are the number one Avocational Musician’s Community here in NYC!
This club was started by me around 1998 with the goal of giving non-professionals an opportunity to connect, practice, work with top pros through our highly successful and fun music programs and perform on professional stages throughout NYC.
.
Since that start we have given 1,000’s of aspiring music lovers the studios, programs, and stages to realize their dreams, with countless performances at top venues such as The Bitter End, Iridium, Cutting Room, South Street Seaport, and Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center to name just a few of the great spaces our community has performed in.
This was an is my dream to be able to help all aspiring musicians ( including myself ) live the dream.
Has it been easy no, but worth it yes! The story is long and complicated but it’s real and has served the industry well.
Along the way I have created the worlds smallest Guitar Stand ( GuitarDocks ) Distributed by D’Addario and Company and met some of the most amazing people and musicians in the world.
during the Pandemic we were able to build a brand new state of the art facility and bring back the live performance aspects of our business at another level.
My day to day activities is constantly looking for new places to perform and creating music programs that will increase our numbers and bring the gift of music to as many people that we can reach, along with maintaining a 6,000 sq ft studio complex.
Please don’t hesitate to look us up and get involved if this is something you are interested in, or at least tell a friend.
They will thank you for ever, I’m sure.
Till we meet soon I hope,
All The Best, Bob

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Had to file for bankruptcy during covid and we are still here, didn’t get paid for at least 2 years, That’s loving what you do any knowing it means something to more people than Yourself.
Survived only with the help of many friends and the supporters from our past and current music programs.
Along with my partners support through it all.
Sometimes you have to believe in what you do and work hard, including and appreciating the help and participation of those around you to succeed. You don’t succeed in a vacuum, By shining the light on other people in your world the reflection raises your status and we all move forward.
Sometimes it’s hard to share and keep going and it seems worthless, but in the toughest moments you will see the help and inspiration will come if you have been honest and worked for it.
Corny maybe, but true.

What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
Society really doesn’t owe us a career but without us, the world will be a colorless and non-reflective human environment.
We should all support the arts from the cradle to the grave, to help us live in a more interesting world.
In my humble opinion all governments should prioritize funding the arts and sciences along with basic fundamental skills needed to go into the world ready to make decisions that will hopefully benefit not only themselves but all of us in our schools, and it’s a shame the first things that go are arts and gym, from my experiences both of those are so beneficial to all of us as a society.
In closing, please remember the world doesn’t owe us a career in the arts, if your one of the lucky ones that can pay your way with your artistic talent my hats off to you and i’m sure you earned it, lots of us have talent but it’s not always in your future for whatever the reason, but don’t blame someone else if it’s not happening, just live your best and try your best for real, and you won’t be sorry for at least trying and if it’s in the stars congratulations.
