We were lucky to catch up with Adam Lillhannus recently and have shared our conversation below.
Adam, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today To kick things off, we’d love to hear about things you or your brand do that diverge from the industry standard
We do our very best to keep our customers happy and satisfied, by going above and beyond on delivering their Swedish Candy to them, or allowing them to pick-up candy at ungodly hours when that is their only possibility, or what their cravings are asking for.
We interact with out customers and ask them from time to time about what they would like to see changed in our assortment of sweets.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Our families noticed the hype and social trends about #SwedishCandy on TikTok and Instagram, how Scandinavian sweets took the internet by storm in recent years.
We looked around in our nearby area and found that Swedish Candy, Bubs and Ecuadorian chocolate was nowhere to be found. And thus we set out to bring these beloved sweets to our local customers and national customers alike, making their Swedish and South American sweets readily accessible.
I and my family are proud to offer all-natural ingredients, gluten-free, non-GMO, vegan-friendly (halal-friendly, kosher-friendly) BUBS candies to our Greater Tampa Bay customers. It is not easy to find gelatin-free candies these days, and our customers routinely comment on how fresh, natural and tasty the candies smell and taste.
We are expanding and are increasing our assortment of sweets, as our clientele and satisfied customer crowd keeps expanding.
How’d you meet your business partner?
The co-founder and business partner in this venture is none other than my beautiful wife. We met in 2015 in Clearwater, Florida. She is from Quito, Ecuador and I am from Stockholm, Sweden.
We get along very well, having worked side by side for almost a decade and currently raising two young children.
And so we decided to import and share both Ecuadorian chocolate and Swedish candy from The Pirate Candy Shop in Tampa.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
We do our best and try to go above and beyond to make our customers happy and satisfied. Adding more candy rather than less to their bags, stretching our schedules to fit their needs, and doing anything we can to help someone in need of the best sweets out is what we strive for.
Being in great communication with our buyers, listening to their needs and wants, and adopting our assortment and mixed bags after their feedback has helped us tremendously!
