We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Khushbu Zaveri. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Khushbu below.
Alright, Khushbu thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
Realizing that I wanted to pursue a creative path professionally felt like the natural culmination of a lifelong passion. From an early age, I was drawn to artistic expression—making handmade greeting cards, sketching, and immersing myself in any creative endeavor that sparked joy. What began as a childhood fascination soon turned into small entrepreneurial ventures, from selling handcrafted cards to teaching calligraphy and drawing classes during summer vacations. These early experiences weren’t just about creating; they were about sharing creativity with others and finding fulfillment in bringing joy through art.
That same sense of purpose resurfaced when I captured my first newborn photography session. In that moment, everything I had loved about art, storytelling, and human connection came together in the most profound way. Long before I became a mother myself, I found immense joy in capturing the delicate details and fleeting moments of newborns, recognizing how meaningful these memories would be for families. With my husband’s encouragement and my ever-growing love for the craft, I knew photography wasn’t just a passion—it was my calling.
From childhood crafts to capturing life’s most cherished moments, creativity has always been my compass, guiding me to where I am today with Innocent Imprint. Turning this lifelong love for art into a profession that preserves memories and touches lives is truly a dream come true.

Khushbu, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m Khushbu Zaveri, a Newborn and Family Photographer, and my creative journey began long before I officially entered the photography industry. As a child, I was always immersed in crafts—making and selling greeting cards, teaching calligraphy and drawing classes during summer vacations, and sharing my love for art with others. These early experiences shaped my passion for creativity and connection, which eventually led me to photography.
I got my first real exposure to photography through my husband, whose passion for the art was infectious. During the early days of his journey, I would often tag along with him on his adventures, whether it was a 3:00 a.m. drive to Yosemite to capture a breathtaking sunrise or braving cold winter nights under the stars to practice astrophotography. Being part of those experiences was more than just tagging along—it was an education in itself. I watched him meticulously set up his equipment, chase the perfect light, and I learned to see the world through a photographer’s eyes, noticing the subtle interplay of light and shadow, the beauty in the ordinary, and the stories that can be told through a single frame.
Today, I run Innocent Imprint, a boutique photography brand specializing in Newborn, Cakesmash, Maternity, and Pet Photography. My business is all about capturing moments that are fleeting yet unforgettable. From a baby’s tiny fingers and toes to the joyous chaos of a cake smash or the bond between pets and their humans, I aim to preserve these emotions in timeless images.
At Innocent Imprint, I prioritize trust, safety, and quality in every session. My clients welcome me into their most intimate and cherished moments, and I don’t take that responsibility lightly. Whether capturing a newborn just days after birth or celebrating the beauty of motherhood in a maternity session, I am dedicated to fostering a serene and welcoming atmosphere where families feel truly at ease. Newborn photography requires patience, expertise, and a deep understanding of infant safety. Over the years, I have perfected gentle posing techniques and handling practices to ensure babies are always safe and comfortable.
Quality is at the core of everything I do. Photography is more than capturing images—it’s about creating timeless heirlooms. From the moment a session is booked to the final delivery of professionally edited photographs, I focus on every detail to provide an exceptional experience. I guide my clients through selecting outfits, themes, and album designs, ensuring they receive beautifully crafted memories that will last a lifetime.
Beyond delivering quality, what I’m most proud of is the lasting relationships I build with my clients. Many families return for multiple milestones, trusting me to document their journey from maternity to newborn, first birthdays, and beyond. Seeing families grow and knowing that my images will be cherished for generations is the most fulfilling part of my work.
What sets Innocent Imprint apart is our deeply personalized approach. I understand that each family, baby, or pet is unique, and I take the time to tailor each session to reflect their personality and story. I pride myself on creating a relaxed, joyful environment where clients feel comfortable and confident. Beyond photography, I also guide clients through the process, from planning outfits and themes to designing heirloom-quality albums that they can cherish forever.
Innocent Imprint is more than just photography—it’s about creating art that speaks to the heart. Whether capturing a mother’s strength in a maternity session, the joy of a cake smash, or the unbreakable bond between a pet and its owner, every image tells a story worth preserving. At the heart of my work is a passion for turning life’s most meaningful moments into tangible memories, and I am truly grateful for the incredible clients who allow me to be part of their journey.

Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can provide some insight – you never know who might benefit from the enlightenment.
One aspect of my creative journey that non-creatives might find difficult to grasp is the immense emotional and mental energy invested in artistic work. Photography, for instance, is often perceived as simply pressing a button, but in reality, it is an intricate blend of vision, intuition, and storytelling. It requires the ability to see beyond the surface—to find beauty in the ordinary, to capture fleeting moments with depth and meaning, and to create something that resonates on an emotional level.
Creativity is not for everyone; it is an intrinsic force that shapes how one perceives the world. The process itself demands vulnerability. When I photograph a newborn’s delicate details or a family’s raw emotions, I am not merely documenting a scene—I am crafting a timeless narrative, one that holds deep personal significance. It is not just about technical expertise; it is about empathy, intuition, and forging a genuine connection with those I work with. This makes the work both profoundly rewarding and incredibly challenging, as each creation carries a piece of my heart.
Another often-overlooked aspect of a creative career is the relentless pursuit of inspiration and growth. Creativity does not flow endlessly; it requires effort, patience, and a willingness to step outside one’s comfort zone. Those 3:00 a.m. drives to capture a breathtaking sunrise or the long, frigid nights spent under the stars have taught me that inspiration often emerges in the unexpected—in the quiet moments, in the risks taken, in the commitment to seeing the world differently.
What I hope others take away from this is that creativity is not merely a talent—it is a relentless pursuit fueled by passion, persistence, and an openness to possibility. For those on the verge of exploring their creative side, my advice is simple: trust your vision. Your perspective is uniquely yours, and the world will always have space for originality and authenticity.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
For me, the most rewarding aspect of being a creative is the profound connection I forge with people through my work. It is an incredible privilege to be entrusted with capturing moments that hold deep emotional significance—moments that families will cherish for generations. Whether it’s preserving the delicate innocence of a newborn, the joy of a baby’s first birthday, or the unbreakable bond between a family and their pet, knowing that my images become treasured heirlooms is an honor I hold close to my heart.
There is something truly magical about witnessing my clients’ reactions when they see the final images. When a parent tells me that a photograph brought tears to their eyes or that it perfectly encapsulates their child’s personality, it reaffirms why I do what I do. These moments remind me that my work extends beyond photography—it is about creating art that resonates, evokes emotion, and preserves the essence of life’s most beautiful moments.
Beyond the emotional fulfillment, I also cherish the creative freedom my work provides. Each session is an opportunity to explore new ideas, push artistic boundaries, and craft unique visual stories. The process of conceptualizing, executing, and bringing a vision to life in a way that exceeds expectations is immensely gratifying.
Most importantly, being a creative allows me to leave a lasting legacy. My work is not just about the present; it is about giving families something they can hold onto for decades—a tangible reminder of love, joy, and fleeting moments that deserve to be remembered. The ability to create something timeless, something that will be cherished long after the moment has passed, is what continues to inspire me every day.
