Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to V Capaldi. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
V, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Was there a defining moment in your professional career? A moment that changed the trajectory of your career?
Going to Burning Man
I live with a few autoimmune disease one being Multiple Sclerosis (MS). About 15 years ago I was broke and unable to function without help. I had lost feeling on the left side of my body, could not move my head left, right or up/down, loss use of my hands, had trouble swallowing and the list goes on.
I have an only child who was getting ready to graduate from college and I did not want her to be burdened by me. So I went to Burning Man to figure out how to kill myself by praying in the temple every day.
By day 4 I realized like a brick hit forehead moment that the healthcare systems in America are a for profit system and maybe I was insane to put my trust in it.
After Burning Man I went back to my home in Venice Beach and locked myself in the house for a year until I figured out how to reverse every symptom from MS using ONLY diet and lifestyle choices!
Fast forward a few years later and I toured around the USA living in strangers homes helping share with them all the free and accessible healing knowledge I had gained. I toured for almost 4 years for FREE serving others.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My greatest contribution is that by simply leading by example people can gain the tools to transform their lives.
Prior to my own miracle journey I was under the impression that healthcare came from a Doctors office and not my kitchen and Mother Earth. Once I took things back to basics and made small changes my world became miraculous.
Still to this day I offer most of my services for free or donation. I believe I was put on this earth to figure this out and give the information away.
This is what I am most proud of is giving others access. In the world of functional healing the leaders are often priced so far out of range for 99.9% of us. Access being denied to all but the wealthy.
My focus has been the opposite. Real change can only happen when we all share the same opportunities for growth and healing.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
When I started touring I believed 100% that the keys to healing lied largely in the foods you eat. Which is VERY true on many levels.
However I would tour in homes where folks living with very challenging illnesses where eating a horrible diet and doing no real focused work to heal and thriving.
On the flip side I would see others doing everything by my definition right and getting worse and worse.
I quickly realized that financial security, feeling cared about and loved are truly the most important aspects to heal from anything. Without those elements freeing your body from the effects of disease is almost impossible.
Training and knowledge matter of course, but beyond that what do you think matters most in terms of succeeding in your field?
You have to meet people where they are. You cannot judge or expect people to understand and accept your lens on healing, life or just about anything.
When I first started touring I lived in strangers homes. I had to make sure judgement left my mind and body or I would be zero help to others.
The only way I was able to give people real tools of self empowerment is if I understand their narrative and met them where they are. I needed to tailor all support and suggestions to each individual.
Healing and self empowerment are not one size fits all.
