Hi Shenika , thanks for joining us today. Has your work ever been misunderstood or mischaracterized?

I think us as people in general are misunderstood but I think us creatives are more misunderstood because we are very creative with creative minds so we think different from everyone else! I am a creative who wears many hats so I am always busy and I have so many different creative interests that I like and want to do. But with the creative mind that I have it sometimes gets very overwhelming and I have to remind myself that I am only one person!

Shenika , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

I am a proud, strong, Jamaican woman and I believe in natural beauty! I love my natural beauty and locs and I help my clients to embrace their natural beauty and hair as well! I am a natural hairstylist and entrepreneur. I offer hair services, natural makeup services, headwraps services, and jewelry products! My individuality I think sets me apart the most! I been through a lot in my life and I came along way which makes me very proud of my accomplishments.

What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?

I think there should be more free resources for us creatives to take part in for our brand. I would like to take part in more free resources that can help me and my brand! Everything now of days is so expensive and I don’t like that because it makes it even harder for us creatives especially us young entrepreneurs.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?

To me the most rewarding feeling in my business is to know I made a positive impact in someone else life!
