Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Josie Anderson. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Josie, thanks for joining us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
In 2023, I hit a breaking point. I was burnt out from work, overwhelmed by endless house chores, and stretched thin by the demands of being a mom. The constant pressure took its toll, and I found myself struggling with anxiety. It was during this tough time that I asked myself two life-changing questions: “Is this it? Is this how my life is going to be from now on?”
I was so close to taking the anxiety pills my doctor prescribed, but magically, the Dharma Coaching Institute came into my life—a soul-purpose coaching program designed to help women uncover their life’s purpose and guide others to do the same.
Through this program, everything began to shift. I realized I wasn’t alone in feeling burnt out and unfulfilled, and I discovered my true calling: helping other Super Moms reconnect with their deepest desires and create meaningful, joyful lives. Lives not defined by stress or anxiety but by fulfillment, purpose, and authenticity.
At the heart of my vision is a transformed world—one where healthcare and self-care are rooted in ancient wisdom and natural healing practices that nurture the mind, body, and soul. I’m passionate about creating a paradigm shift, especially for women like me: “supermoms” who juggle it all but often feel lost or depleted in the process.
This journey is about self-discovery—finding who we truly are beneath all the labels and expectations, learning to embrace challenges as opportunities for growth, and stepping into lives of authenticity and joy.
Why me?
Because I’ve been there. I’m a recovering perfectionist, a mom, and a professional who once felt completely burnt out because I wasn’t living in alignment with my soul’s purpose. My personal healing journey—including meditation, journaling, and deep self-reflection—has taught me the importance of nurturing inner wisdom.
Now, I’m here to share that wisdom and help other women reclaim their power, reconnect with their purpose, and step into the lives they were meant to live.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Hieeyy! My name is Josie—I’m a mom of three, a wife, an accounting manager, a business owner, and a free spirit at heart. I created The Divine Self by Josie Anderson to support Super Moms who are navigating work burnout, mom stress, and the chaos of daily life.
Here’s the thing: so much of how we live comes down to our subconscious thoughts. Most Super Moms are perfectionists, Type A personalities, overachievers, or people-pleasers. We feel like we have to do it all, but that mindset is exactly what leaves us feeling drained and depleted. I know that feeling all too well, which is why I created the Awaken to the Divine Self Journal—a 90-day guided journal designed to help women uncover and reframe the subconscious thought patterns that hold them back into empowering beliefs that move them forward.
As I worked through my own limiting beliefs, I realized how many women are stuck in the same negative thought loops. According to the National Science Foundation, 80% of our thoughts are negative, and 95% of them are repetitive.
Awaken to the Divine Self journal was born from everything I’ve learned—from a soul-purpose coaching program, therapy sessions, my personal experiences, and divine guidance. It’s the same journaling process I used to start transforming my own life into one that feels aligned and fulfilling.
This journal is about so much more than writing down your thoughts. It helps women create more time, gain mental clarity, and step into a life of purpose. It’s designed with intention-setting in mind—so instead of being stuck in the past, you can look forward to a brighter, more aligned future.
It’s holistic, too. It connects the mind by helping you become aware of your thought patterns, the body by recognizing and processing your emotions, and the soul by connecting with your inner wisdom.
I want women to know they already have everything they need to heal themselves. It’s all about coming back to who you truly are and trusting your divine wisdom. Too often, we look for answers outside of ourselves, but this journal creates a sacred space for you to connect within—where your truth already lives.
When you reconnect with yourself, you stop second-guessing your decisions. You feel confident, empowered, and ready to move forward in your journey. That’s what this journal is all about—helping you remember who you are and giving you the tools to thrive.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
For the longest time, I carried a lack mentality when it came to money. On a subconscious level, I kept telling myself, “There’s never enough.” I didn’t even realize how much that belief was stunting my growth until I started doing some deep self-reflective work.
As I dove into abundance courses, energy work, and neuroscience, I began to reframe my mindset around money. I discovered something powerful: money is just energy. That’s why it’s called currency—it comes from the Latin word currere, which means to run or to flow.
When I looked at my life, I realized that during the times I struggled with money, other areas of my life—like my relationships and my job—were also stagnant. Nothing was flowing because I was stuck in a life I didn’t want. It wasn’t until I started exploring new programs, opening myself to new ideas, and redefining my self-worth that things began to shift.
One of the hardest moments came when I wanted to sign up for the Dharma Coaching Institute program. I knew it was something my soul was calling me to do, but I didn’t have the money to pay for it. My mind kept saying, “I don’t have the money,” but my intuition kept nudging me forward. So, I took a leap of faith, signed up without knowing how I’d pay for it, and surrendered the outcome to God.
And you know what? It all worked out. That decision marked the beginning of money flowing to me in ways I never imagined. As I grew spiritually, deepened my relationships, and prioritized self-care, abundance started to show up—not just financially, but in every area of my life.
The biggest takeaway for me was realizing the power of my subconscious beliefs. What we tell ourselves shapes the reality we experience. If you can reframe your inner dialogue to be open to infinite possibilities, you can create the life you truly desire.
From lack to abundance, I affirm, “I am more than enough. I have more than enough. Infinite possibilities are all around me.” Remember, money is energy. When you’re aligned, connected, and open, it will flow to you in ways you never thought possible.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Starting a business has been one of the most challenging yet rewarding journeys of my life. Along the way, I’ve faced countless struggles, but I’ve come to see them as opportunities for growth rather than setbacks. One of my biggest hurdles has been navigating the technical side of running a business—figuring out when to do things myself and when to outsource.
For example, when it came time to create my website, I had a clear vision in my mind but no idea how to bring it to life in words. That’s when I decided to hire a copywriter, and honestly, it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. If I hadn’t outsourced that part, I might have stalled entirely and not moved forward with my vision.
The same goes for designing the website. Even though I paid for a program that was supposed to help me with the process, I knew I didn’t have the time or expertise to make it look professional. So, I hired a web designer. It was a big investment, but it allowed me to focus on what I do best and trust an expert to bring my ideas to life.
One of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned is to know my strengths and be okay with delegating the rest. As new business owners, we often feel like we have to do it all ourselves, but that mindset can actually hold us back. Outsourcing isn’t just about saving time—it’s about creating a better product and learning from others in the process.
That said, the cost of outsourcing has sometimes triggered my old lack mentality. I’ve caught myself hesitating, worrying about whether it’s worth the expense. But every single time, I’ve learned that the investment pays off, often in unexpected ways. Not only do I make the money back, but I also gain invaluable insights by asking questions and learning from the experts I hire.
One book that has helped me embrace the power of outsourcing is The Pumpkin Plan by Mike Michalowicz. It’s a game-changer for anyone trying to grow their business while staying true to their vision.
Looking back, every challenge I’ve faced has taught me something important about resilience, growth, and trusting the process. And for that, I’m so grateful.
