We recently connected with Jasmine Ellington and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Jasmine, thanks for joining us today. What’s the best or worst investment you’ve made?
The biggest investment I’ve made as a business owner is in my training and education.
I never imagined even working in the medical field, and it has blessed me! My intention after having my daughter ( who has now passed ) was to simply be her mom.
Once life changed, and she passed away, I had to find myself again. I needed to rediscover who Jasmine the woman was.
When I started my business, and began investing in me again, I noticed that I was my biggest investment. I want to have more children, and create the lifestyle that I find most comfortable for me.
The lesson I learned is that time waits for no one. Get out there, and make it happen for yourself!

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Azalias Way LLC was birthed after the passing of my daughter Azalia in 2018. In the birth work world, things can be tricky, so I chose to be hands on with what I do!
I am full spectrum, and I am able to provide anything from preconception, to bereavement care for my clients. I provide hands-on support during labor and delivery, natural pain control, and bereavement care services for families of stillbirth babies. I think what sets me apart is the fact that I come with love, care, and compassion for every single client, no matter the situation. I look at my business as a ministry, and I lead with love and prayer.!
I am most proud of the fact that I named my business after my daughter, and I will continue to grow my business until the Lord calls me home. I find that business is hard sometimes, but with guidance from God, and following my passion, my business will thrive.
It takes a special person to give back after child loss, and I feel as if it is my calling to do so.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
A lesson that I had to unlearn is “we live by the consequences of the decisions we make.“
I was told this quote all the time growing up, and sometimes they were situations where I did not make a choice, but I have to live with a consequence of that decision.
Things can be hard as a young person growing up in poverty, but as time goes on, and we learn, we do have a choice in things that we do. Not every choice is going to be made for our benefit, but that’s just a part of life. Surround yourself with those who think, believe, and live their lives the way you do.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I started to build my social media presence years after my business had begin. I had no idea how impactful marketing was, and sometimes even in present day, I still do struggle with it. My business is based where I am from, and that makes things even harder. I’m still growing on social media!!!
