Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Vlad Vasylchenko. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Vlad, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What’s been the best thing you’ve ever seen (or done yourself) to show a customer that you appreciate them?
One of the most memorable ways I showed appreciation to a customer was during a wedding I was photographing. I noticed the couple was particularly stressed about staying on schedule and worried about their guests enjoying themselves. To ease their concerns, I went beyond my usual role by helping coordinate moments behind the scenes, like gathering family members for photos quickly and even stepping in to adjust the timeline slightly to accommodate unexpected delays.
Additionally, I surprised the couple by creating a short, same-day highlight video of their ceremony and the first dance, which I presented to them during the reception. Seeing their reaction—tears of joy and disbelief—was incredibly rewarding.
For them, it wasn’t just about the service I provided; it was the thoughtfulness and care I showed in capturing their day and making it stress-free. They told me afterward that it felt like having a trusted friend by their side, not just a photographer.
Moments like these remind me why I love what I do—helping people preserve their most cherished memories while making their experience unforgettable.

Vlad, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Vlad, and I’m a wedding photographer based in Charleston, SC. Photography wasn’t my first career—I took a winding path to get here, trying out roles like sales manager and even DJing. But those experiences helped me discover my true passion: capturing life’s most meaningful moments through a creative lens. Photography allows me to combine my love for storytelling, art, and human connection in a way that feels deeply fulfilling.
I specialize in wedding photography, but I also offer engagement sessions, drone photography, and even video services, including YouTube content creation. My goal is to provide not just stunning images but an unforgettable experience for my clients. I understand that weddings are once-in-a-lifetime events filled with emotion, and I strive to document every smile, tear, and joyful moment in a way that feels authentic and timeless.
What sets me apart is my approach. I see every wedding as a unique story and treat it as such. I take the time to get to know my clients—their personalities, their preferences, and what matters most to them. This connection allows me to capture their day in a way that truly reflects who they are. Additionally, my technical expertise with high-end gear, like my Canon EOS R5 and DJI Air 3 drone, enables me to deliver high-quality, breathtaking results from every angle.
One of the things I’m most proud of is how my work makes people feel. I’ve had clients tell me they cried tears of joy when they saw their wedding album or that my photos helped them relive the magic of their day even years later. That’s the kind of impact I aim for with every project.
For potential clients, I want them to know that I’m not just here to take photos—I’m here to help make their big day as smooth and special as possible. I’ll be your guide, your problem solver, and your biggest supporter from the moment we start working together.
For followers and fans of my work, I want to say thank you for joining me on this journey. Photography is more than a job for me; it’s a way to connect with people and celebrate life’s beauty. Whether it’s through a wedding, a creative project, or simply sharing my latest work, I’m constantly inspired to do my best and create something meaningful.

How did you build your audience on social media?
Building my social media audience has been a journey of creativity, connection, and consistency. I focused on Instagram, using it to showcase my work as a wedding photographer while sharing the stories behind the photos. I created a cohesive aesthetic that reflected my brand and prioritized quality in every post.
Engaging with my audience was key. Responding to comments and DMs, sharing behind-the-scenes content, and showing my personality helped build trust and relatability. Stories and Reels allowed me to connect on a more personal level, letting people see the person behind the camera.
For those starting out, my advice is:
Define Your Brand: Be clear on your message and aesthetic.
Engage Authentically: Build genuine connections with your audience.
Be Consistent: Post regularly and experiment with new formats.
Show Your Personality: People connect with your story as much as your work.
Social media isn’t just about numbers—it’s about building a community that values your vision and creativity.

We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.
I maintain strong relationships with my clients by focusing on communication, personalization, and exceptional service. From the initial inquiry to the final delivery of photos, I make sure they feel supported and valued every step of the way.
To stay connected, I regularly check in with clients, whether it’s to confirm shoot details, provide updates, or share a sneak peek of their photos. I also use social media to engage with them—liking and commenting on their posts, sharing their feedback, and celebrating their special milestones.
After a project is completed, I send a thank-you note or a small token of appreciation to show gratitude for their trust. I also offer discounts for returning clients and referrals, which fosters loyalty and strengthens our connection.
Building relationships isn’t just about business; it’s about genuinely caring for people and their experiences. I want my clients to remember not just the photos but how they felt working with me—valued, heard, and celebrated.
