Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Clifton Taylor. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Clifton, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
When I was a child I was always the entertainer. I remember holidays, specifically Christmas, my family would spend it together on my great grandparents farm. Christmas eve we would sit in the family room handing out presents. I would play my favorite Christmas album, singing and dancing, everyone laughing at me, family members singing along. It’s a memory I still cherish to this day. For just that moment, all worries were lost, stresses set to the side. I helped provide that. Being able to make someone forget all their troubles for just a moment is a powerful thing.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is Clifton Taylor. I’m an american actor born and raised in Minneapolis, MN. I am an underdog story. I am the kid who grew up with abusive parents. I’m the kid who’s parents gave him up so I moved home to home, year after year. The only consistant in my life, my grandparents. Acting and comedy were my outlets. Acting and entertainment were my dream.
After high school I did the job thing, the marriage thing, the child thing. Nothing ever filled the void or brought me happiness like acting and performing. Now, I’m at a place in my life where my children are old enough and the time to pursue real dreams of acting is now.
I am currently in the series The Red Huntress and have multiple movie roles coming up this year. The project I’m most excited for is Trash’s Revenge: Return of the Living Dead Universe. The original Return of the Living Dead movie is one of my all time favorites so this is a childhood dream come true for me.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
My goals and mission are quite simple. My goal is to provide new opportunities for my children. Both are very artistic and I hope to open doors for them to be successful in any chosen field. My mission is to get to a position that I can give back to those less fortunate. To spread love, positivity, and be an inspiration to others as so many inspire me on a daily basis.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
Acting takes me away from everything and brings me joy. I love it.
