We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Lelana Cavotta. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with lelana below.
Hi Lelana, thanks for joining us today. Taking care of customers isn’t just good business – it is often one of the main reasons folks went into business in the first place. So, we’d love to get a conversation going around how to best help clients feel appreciated – maybe you can share something you’ve done or seen someone do that’s been really effective at helping a customer feel valued?
Going the Extra Mile for My Clients
At Faux Stems & Co., I believe weddings should be as extraordinary as the love they celebrate. One way I ensure my clients feel special is by offering thoughtful extras that elevate their day. For instance:
• I often provide a complimentary floral arrangement for their sweetheart table, adding a personal and romantic touch that ties into their overall decor.
• I might surprise them with upgraded linens or extra rentals, like elegant candle holders or specialty table decor, to enhance their reception’s ambiance.
These gestures are my way of saying “thank you” for trusting me with their big day. It’s not just about delivering a service—it’s about creating an unforgettable experience and showing my appreciation for the opportunity to be part of their celebration.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is lelana Cavotta, and I am the founder of Faux Stems & Co a company specializing in wedding rentals and wedding management, with a particular passion for crafting both real and silk floral arrangements. My journey into this industry was born out of a love for creativity and a deep appreciation for the transformative power of events. Weddings are not just celebrations—they are deeply personal stories brought to life, and being able to contribute to those magical moments is what drew me to this field.
If you’re considering working with us, I want you to know that we’re here to make your vision come alive. Your wedding should feel like a reflection of who you are, and we’re committed to making that happen. Whether you’re dreaming of timeless elegance, modern minimalism, or something completely out of the box, we have the creativity, experience, and resources to bring it to life.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Collaborating with other vendors, photographers, and influencers played a big role in growing my audience. We’d team up for:
Styled shoots that showcased our combined talents.
Giveaways, like offering a free bouquet or a discount on rentals, to attract new followers.
Bridal shows are one of the best ways to showcase my work in person and meet potential clients face-to-face. Here’s how I approach them:
The Knot is like a virtual storefront for wedding professionals, and it’s been a game-changer for connecting with engaged couples.
Any fun sales or marketing stories?
One of my favorite stories as a wedding professional is how I met a client who became a dear friend. She first discovered me through Instagram, where she fell in love with my floral designs and décor style. After exchanging a few messages, she told me she was planning her wedding in North Carolina and couldn’t imagine anyone else creating the florals for her big day.
Even though it was an 8-hour drive from where I’m based, I didn’t hesitate for a second. My husband and I packed up the van with flowers, supplies, and everything we needed to bring her vision to life and hit the road.
The moment we arrived, I felt an instant connection with her and her family. Her wedding was absolutely stunning—an outdoor ceremony surrounded by lush greenery, with soft, romantic floral arrangements that complemented the setting perfectly. It was one of those magical weddings where everything just fell into place.
But what makes this story so special to me isn’t just the wedding—it’s the relationship that grew from it. By the end of the weekend, I didn’t feel like just her florist; I felt like a friend who had been invited into one of the most important days of her life. To this day, we stay in touch, and I’m so grateful that Instagram brought us together.
That experience reminded me why I love what I do. It’s not just about the flowers or the décor—it’s about the connections I get to make with amazing people and the joy of being a part of their love story.
