Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Salvatore Spinelli. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Salvatore , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
The most meaningful project is my current work with Kodi Lee., a phenomenal musician who gained notoriety as the winner of Americas Got Talent season 14, but also happened to be born autism and is blind. The contrast between how people react to him before they hear him sing and immediately after is very stark, and amusing to witness. Beautiful sometimes
I began working with Kodi around 2016 as a music teacher, and voice coach. Not that he necessarily needed to learn much about how to play, but his parents were very insistent on finding a way for him to play music with others that would also see him as a peer, and a friend.

Salvatore , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I was just a young kid wanting to get into this industry as most young kids who played guitar were. To be in a band a play music around the world like we saw our guitar hero’s do it. Of course, as time goes on that reality swiftly diminishes as we realize how difficult and almost impossible that could be. Though, it’s great to have goals and to set aspirations high. I nearly gave up on music after many years of “trying to make it.”
Much like any other path, it takes a lot of sacrifice and tenacity to succeed. And after some other interests motivated me for a short time, I was back into music, playing clubs and small self funded tours and recordings. Eventually, the development deals came and the shows and quality of the music and recording experience was better.
After sometime, I began teaching music as an opportunity had presented itself and another love for creative purpose had been made.
It was at this time that my understanding of not only music, but also people and the creative process really started to blossom.

How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
Follow their work. Think of them when wanting to commission a project or need a service they can provide. Share their talents.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
For me I like t create for the fun of it. If there is something that I hear or see in thoughts I simply must stop all I’m doing to bring it to life. Not that it’s always going to be good, or needs to be shared, but I just feels good to take it to reality. When I do happen to share things with the world, and I see people reacting positively, it’s always a rewarding feeling. Be it because they smiled, or because they made a connection in any way.
