We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Emmanuel Flores a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Emmanuel thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s jump to the end – what do you want to be remembered for?
I want people to remember how beautiful life is, with the pictures, with what I write. life is so fast-paced that sometimes we forget to take in what’s around us. So the legacy I want to build is for people to remember to take life easy and to remember how great life can be.
I really hope they talk about how peculiar my mind was, but I think that the people who knew me will talk about how caring I was, and how inspiring I was to them all.
I hope to be remembered for all the great things I did in life, I hope people remember the crazy things too, like people talking about how Van Gogh cut off his ear at a bar.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is Emmanuel Flores. I’m an aspiring artist. I take pictures and videos, I do improv, and act. I got into all of this realistically because I looked into putting myself into these things. I just started taking pictures and videos and then studied them. For improv, I started because a friend invited me. After all, I was interested in acting. And for acting it came down to chance, I was taking some acting classes and I did a cop for theater, and then I found an ad for a movie and I made the cut!
What I think sets me apart with my photography and videos is how I capture the mundane things in life and make them so captivating, freeing almost.
I’m proud of how much my style has changed and how it came to be what it is now. this change came from how I view life now. what I want everyone to know about me and my work is that my work has hidden meaning in them. they are mostly for me but if people were to find out about those hidden meanings they would make me happy.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
I think the biggest goal I have is to have a job that I enjoy that will give me enough money for the things I need and to take care of my family and that will also give me time to do the things I want most out of life

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding part of being an artist/creative is when I finish a product I see firsthand how different the product is from the before and after. It’s almost cathartic to see how beautiful the finished product is, I feel so proud and so much joy of the things I create as if they are my babies.
