We were lucky to catch up with Ignacio Ortega recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Ignacio thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What do you think it takes to be successful?
Success as an entrepreneur is often less about the big milestones and more about the daily commitment to showing up and making consistent progress. It’s about recognizing that every small win contributes to a larger vision, creating a compounding effect that leads to meaningful achievements over time.
In my own entrepreneurial journey, I’ve learned that success isn’t defined by one major breakthrough or a single moment of recognition. Instead, it’s the result of countless small actions taken day after day, even when the path feels uncertain.
I remember when I first launched my business. The initial days were filled with challenges – late nights, unexpected setbacks, and moments of doubt. There were times when it felt like I was putting in so much effort for very little return. But I made a commitment to show up every day, whether it was refining my business plan, reaching out to potential clients, or simply learning something new.
These little wins began to accumulate. Each success built my confidence and motivated me to push further. I started to see how these small steps were compounding into something greater. As I continued to show up each day, My skills improved, and my business began to grow and it is ever evolving.
This journey taught me that entrepreneurship is not just about the end goal; it’s about embracing the process and finding joy in the daily hustle. It’s about understanding that every small action—every email sent, every meeting attended, every lesson learned—adds up over time.
In essence, success as an entrepreneur requires persistence and the ability to find meaning in the everyday grind. It’s about treating each little win as significant and recognizing that they are all part of the bigger picture. By showing up consistently and celebrating those incremental victories, you’re not just working toward your goals—you’re actively creating your own success story.
Trust in the process, embrace each small win, and remember that success is built on the foundation of your daily efforts. Each step you take is a step closer to realizing your dreams.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My journey into the world of event entertainment began with a lifelong passion for music and dance. From my earliest memories, I knew that movement through music was my true calling, though I never imagined it would become my professional path. The road to realizing this dream wasn’t without its challenges, particularly overcoming imposter syndrome. However, a pivotal move from New Jersey to Colorado became the catalyst for my transformation. In this new environment, I found myself connecting with like-minded individuals, and unknowingly, the pieces of my future began to fall into place.
As the founder and owner of Front Range Entertainment, I’ve made it my mission to elevate the standard of event experiences. We pride ourselves on offering a diverse array of acts and amenities that not only make events memorable but leave a lasting impression on both clients and guests. My role is to ensure seamless communication between clients and all involved parties, orchestrating events that exceed expectations.
At Front Range Entertainment, we believe that the bar for music and energy at events is often set too low. Our goal is to raise that bar significantly, surpassing client expectations and creating unforgettable experiences. We bring together the best talent and innovative ideas to transform ordinary gatherings into extraordinary events.
Reflecting on my journey, two achievements stand out prominently. First, the unwavering consistency to show up every day, even when I wasn’t at my best, pushing relentlessly towards my goals. Second, stepping into a role that initially made me profoundly uncomfortable. As a business owner, I became the face of the company, responsible for everything that happens. For someone who once preferred to stand at the back of the room, being thrust into the spotlight was a significant challenge. Overcoming this and finding comfort in a leadership role is an accomplishment I’m particularly proud of.
I acknowledge that I’m human and prone to mistakes. However, I believe the true beauty of life lies in our ability to learn and grow from these missteps. My personal and professional growth from the beginning of this journey to the present day is what makes Front Range Entertainment a valuable asset for any event you’re planning.
If you’re seeking the best decision for your event needs, look no further. Front Range Entertainment is not just a service provider; we’re your partners in creating exceptional experiences. We’re here, ready and eager to help with whatever you need, bringing creativity, professionalism, and a passion for excellence to every event.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
My journey of pivoting began in New Jersey, where I had established myself in the healthcare field as a certified medical assistant in nephrology, an EMT, and a nursing assistant. This career path initially fulfilled a deep-seated desire to make a positive impact on people’s lives. However, as time passed, I found myself at a crossroads, grappling with aspects of the healthcare system that no longer aligned with my personal values and vision for patient care.
The turning point came when I realized that the healthcare system often reduced patients to mere numbers, a perspective that profoundly conflicted with my belief in the uniqueness of each individual’s experiences, hopes, and fears. I couldn’t reconcile the idea of dismissing or generalizing a person’s views simply because they didn’t fit into a predetermined medical narrative.
Faced with this ethical dilemma, I made the decision to leave the medical field behind and embark on a new chapter in Colorado. It was a leap of faith, undertaken without a solid game plan, but driven by an unwavering commitment to my principles and a desire for meaningful change.
This pivot was not about abandoning my skills or the noble aspects of healthcare. Instead, it was about reimagining how I could apply my expertise in a way that truly respected and valued each person’s individuality. I’m grateful that I’ve retained my healthcare skills, as they now serve as a foundation for a more holistic and empathetic approach to helping others.
Looking back, this transition, though challenging, has been immensely rewarding. It has allowed me to forge a path that honors both my professional abilities and my personal ethics. In Colorado, I’ve found new ways to contribute meaningfully to people’s well-being, always keeping in mind that behind every ailment is a unique individual deserving of respect and personalized care.
This pivotal moment in my career and life has reinforced my belief that sometimes, the bravest thing we can do is to step away from the familiar and chart a course that aligns more closely with our deepest values. It’s a testament to the power of staying true to oneself, even when it means taking the road less traveled.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
Unlearning a deeply ingrained belief can feel like lifting a crushing weight off your shoulders. For me, the most transformative lesson I had to unlearn was also the most challenging: the idea that to do something right, you must do it entirely on your own.
This mindset, instilled in me from a young age, became a significant barrier to my personal and professional growth. It prevented me from seeking help when I needed it most, especially when embarking on new ventures. I firmly believed that I was the only one who could solve my problems or achieve my goals. This self-reliance, while admirable in some respects, became a limitation.
When faced with obstacles I couldn’t overcome alone, instead of reaching out for support, I would abandon projects and start anew, hoping to find something I could manage independently. This cycle of starting and stopping, fueled by my reluctance to seek assistance, kept me in a perpetual state of unfulfilled potential. I was trapped in a loop of my own making, never truly achieving the goals I set for myself.
The turning point came when I finally recognized that true strength lies not in isolated self-sufficiency, but in the ability to collaborate and learn from others. This realization was particularly pivotal in the creation of Front Range Entertainment. For the first time, I allowed myself to be guided by a mentor who had walked a similar path. Initially, it felt uncomfortable and almost wrong to rely on someone else’s expertise and guidance. However, as I applied their advice and saw the results, I understood the immense value of shared knowledge and experience.
This shift in perspective was liberating. The burden of having to know and do everything myself was lifted, replaced by the exciting possibility of growth through collaboration. By opening myself to guidance and support, I was able to establish and nurture Front Range Entertainment in ways I never could have achieved alone.
This experience taught me that true personal and professional development often requires us to challenge our most deeply held beliefs. Sometimes, the very mindset we think is propelling us forward is actually holding us back. Embracing help and collaboration doesn’t diminish our capabilities or achievements; rather, it enhances them, allowing us to reach heights we never thought possible.
Today, I view seeking help and guidance not as a sign of weakness, but as a strategic strength. This fundamental shift has not only contributed to the success of Front Range Entertainment but has also allowed me to grow as a person, leader, and entrepreneur. It’s a powerful reminder that our greatest lessons often come from unlearning what we thought we knew and opening ourselves to new possibilities.
