We were lucky to catch up with Deejay Saint recently and have shared our conversation below.

Deejay, appreciate you joining us today. Can you talk to us about how you learned to do what you do?

I learn through YouTube academy but I think if I found I school or someone to teach me one on one it would have accelerated my skills

Deejay, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

Sure! As a DJ, my journey started with a deep passion for music and a fascination with how sound can create powerful emotional experiences. I’ve always been drawn to how music brings people together—whether it’s making someone’s night unforgettable on the dance floor or setting the perfect vibe at an event. Over time, that passion evolved into a career where I curate music, blend tracks, and create sonic experiences for different audiences.
I initially began by experimenting with pioneer dj and mixing software such as virtual dj/ serato at house parties and small events, learning the craft through trial, error, and hours of practice. Eventually, I gained opportunities to perform at weddings, festivals, and corporate events, which gave me hands-on experience working with diverse crowds.
I offer a variety of DJ services, including:

1.Festival Performances: High-energy sets designed to get people moving

2.Private Events and Weddings: Customized playlists tailored to the vibe and atmosphere clients want to create.

3. Corporate Events: Professional, polished soundscapes that complement the event’s theme and audience.

4.Livestream DJ Sets and Mixes: Online performances to engage digital audiences.

5. Music Curation & Playlists: Providing soundtracks for businesses, podcasts, or personal listening.
In any setting, my goal is to create an unforgettable atmosphere. Whether it’s helping couples choose the perfect wedding song, ensuring a corporate event stays on brand, or keeping the dance floor packed all night, I solve the challenge of delivering seamless, mood-enhancing music that matches my clients’ needs. I also offer technical expertise, taking care of sound equipment logistics and transitions to ensure events run smoothly.
What sets me apart is my versatility—I’m comfortable across a range of genres, from afro beats to hip-hop to Reggae , and I pride myself on reading a room and adapting my set on the fly. I focus on creating immersive, memorable experiences by mixing tracks in unexpected ways and playing not just popular hits but deep cuts that surprise and delight the audience. Additionally, I aim to build genuine connections with my audience, creating a sense of community around the music.
I’m most proud of the moments where music creates real emotional connections seeing a crowd light up to a favorite track or watching a couple’s first dance come to life is incredibly rewarding.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?

Absolutely! At the core of my creative journey as a DJ my mission is to create meaningful connections through music. Whether I’m performing for a packed festival event, a private celebration, or curating a playlist, my goal is always to use sound to connect people to their emotions, to each other, and to the moment.

In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?

Many talented artists struggle to sustain their craft due to financial barriers. Expanding grant programs, public funding, and community initiatives can provide essential resources for creatives, helping them focus on their art without worrying about financial survival.
