We recently connected with Daisha Truitt and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Daisha thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Alright – so having the idea is one thing, but going from idea to execution is where countless people drop the ball. Can you talk to us about your journey from idea to execution?
I usually start my shoots by brainstorming raw ideas. The process begins with turning all of my ideas into pictures and putting them on a blank google doc. Then I pick out the perfect studio space, from there I match the best ideas to the studio space and let my creativity have a mind of its own. Figuring out that I wanted to be a photographer wasn’t hard at all, it came naturally. I’ve always had an eye for art, photos, etc, it was the only place where my creative mind could go free. Once I finally decided to go full force on photography , I decided to buy a Canon 50D. I wasn’t sure at first if photography was the right fit for me but after taking my first client I realized that this is exactly what I wanted to do. It was a prom shoot, her reaction to the photos was everything that I imagined and more. Recently I upgraded to the Sony A7IV , after numerous hours of research I figured this camera would be perfect for me. It was pretty expensive but well worth it ! In order for my idea to come to life I had to make sure the studio, colors and props were perfectly executed. If you have an artistic creative mind like me, try photography!
Daisha , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Daisha Truitt and I am a Creative Photographer. A Creative Photographer is a photographer that brings whatever wild idea you have to life. I offer studio shoots, nature shoots, you name it ! The thing that sets me apart from other is my ability to communicate. If i genuinely feel like I wouldn’t be able to bring your idea to life, then I will tell you. I do everything in my power to make sure my clients are happy and comfortable during our session. I am most proud of how far I’ve come as a photographer. I want all of my clients/potential clients to know that you are safe with me!
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
