Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Nelson L Moody, Sr . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Nelson L , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
I’ve always wanted to tell stories as a teenager. Fast forward while going through a divorce I was forced to represent myself in my court case. I kept a description journal of my case from beginning to end. I represented myself to The Supreme Court of The United States just to be a part of my son’s life. This was based on my first 2 books. I then wrote a script and filmed a documentary as well. I went on to write 2 more books after that. My 4th book teaches a father how to represent himself in the judicial system. Videos were also made to help on my YouTube channel at Nelson L Moody Sr.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
At the age of 10 years old I wanted to know who my father was. I got short answers to questions. At 18 I traveled the world ( six years in the Army), got out with 2 honorable discharges and asking the same questions to my mother. At 29 almost 30 I searched his last name in the phone book, connected with an aunt who informed me my father died 2 days prior to us meeting. I’ve always said, ” my children will never grow up fatherless “. A promise I’ve kept.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
My story is only to never give up on your vision, dreams and goals. Within my work- Bridging Fathers and Their Children is about staying connected to your children no matter what may happen. I always have told my children that there’s no giving up when it comes down to something you really want in life. We all face obstacles, barriers and resistance in life, but there’s always light at the end of the tunnel. I always tell people this.
: Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
The particular goal and mission for my work is that through encouragement, inspiration ,guidance, love, support and prayers more Fathers will reconnect and stay connected with their children if they were disconnected. My ultimate goal and dream is to have my talkshow ” Internationalfathers talkshow “, on a major television network. My vision is to bridge Fathers and their children Internationally no matter what color, race, religion, wealth or educational status.
