Hi Sandeep , thanks for joining us today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
I was always enchanted by the magical world of cinema and music. The colors, sounds, and stories transported me to new dimensions. I would watch films for hours, mesmerized by the characters and their journeys. Music was my constant companion, evoking emotions and sparking imagination. These early experiences ignited a passion within me, a flame that was burning brighter with each passing day. I knew from a young age that I wanted to craft stories and sounds that would captivate and inspire others. Cinema and music became my escape, my sanctuary, and my driving force. Eventually, my fascination turned into a deep desire to create, to bring my own stories and melodies to life. I began to explore the world of filmmaking and music composition, teaching myself the skills and techniques needed to turn my dreams into reality. Today, I am living my childhood dream, weaving tales and melodies that transport audiences to new and wondrous worlds. I’ve been fortunate enough to experience life’s kaleidoscopic hues since my childhood. My experiences became my teacher. As I traversed the labyrinth of life, I discovered my passion for art, and that became the guiding force behind my creative pursuits. This symbiosis of art and life has become my raison d’être, my driving force. The world, to me, has been like a kaleidoscope of characters, each with their own story to tell and secrets to share. And I am but a humble chronicler, seeking to capture the essence of existence in all its complexity. Through the lens of my camera, I frame the beauty and intricacies of life. My music, a reflection of the harmony and discord that surrounds us, a melodic mosaic. In the fusion of sound and image, I find my true voice, my artistic expression. I am happy being a vessel, channeling the creative energy that flows through me like a river. With each note and each frame, I strive to create something sublime, something that touches the heart. My art is my solace, my sanctuary, my way of making sense of the world. I am grateful for this journey, this odyssey of discovery and creativity. With every step, I am evolving, growing, and learning to harness my artistic vision.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Life has inspired me to embark on a vibrant journey through the realm of art and creativity. As I traverse this boundless landscape, the intricate threads of reality weave together, revealing an ever-unfolding tapestry of endless possibilities. Through a maelstrom of color, sound, and emotion, I navigate the endless expanse, driven by an insatiable inspiration for creative exploration.
I am a filmmaker, producer, music composer, lyricist, songwriter and technologist.
My journey in the entertainment industry is a testament to following my inner voice and pursuing my passions. With a background in Computer Engineering, I began my career in the IT industry and worked across the globe, in Singapore, Japan, United Kingdom, and then the United States. I took a leap of faith to explore my creative side, studying Film Direction, Production, and TV Journalism from Asian Academy of Films and TV in India. I learnt music from various schools in India, and later from Ali Akbar Khan College of Music, California. I further honed my skills in music and video production at Stanford University, California. In 2008, I founded SK Infinity World Media, dedicated to creating innovative and meaningful music and audio-visual content. I also published my spiritual content on podcasts that were ranked in iTunes’ Top 100 New Age music charts in many countries. My channels on YouTube and Pandora Radio are popular with Relaxing Music, Mantras, Buddhist Chants and other life-inspiring content. I’m now exploring the intersection of technology and art, incorporating AI into my upcoming projects.
My music has been part of productions on STAR TV, Channel V, Asia and KMVT15 (California). My music has been incorporated by Miss World Beauty Pageant organization, Media Channels, Ministry of Tourism, India, and many celebrities in their social media posts. My guided meditations and healing music are ranked very well in the popular app Insight Timer. My musical albums and singles range from New Age, Psychedelic, Rock, Fusion, Rhythm-n-Blues to World Music when it comes to musical genres. I’ve worked on carving out a unique niche in the devotional music landscape by fusing Western instrumentation with traditional Indian Chants and Mantras, sharing the spiritual heart of India with a global audience.
Amongst latest music releases, my recent song release, ‘Jaane Kaisa Ab Imtehaan’, a love ballad, with Bollywood legend Padmashree Kavita Krishnamurthy, promises to be a delightful addition to the collection of iconic songs produced by me for my upcoming short films. I wrote the lyrics of the song, while renowned composer Bappa B. Lahiri provided the music. My other songs include significant collaborations with Legends like Shri Amit Kumar, National Award winner Sadhana Sargam, Padmashree Kumar Sanu, Award winner Alka Yagnik, and composer Bappa B Lahiri. I have sung songs with Sadhana Sargam (Teri Meri Baat Ban Jaye), Padmashree Kumar Sanu (Vande Mataram), Alka Yagnik (upcoming), and Amit Kumar (Cinderella), which will feature in short films. As a filmmaker, I have created AD films for organizations including Art of Living Foundation, Cupertino, USA. I have also made films to promote Fashion Trends, Lifestyle, Mind and Body Fitness. My short documentary titled “Humanity & Love – Unplugged”, will be released shortly. My short films have won awards at film festivals including 12th Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival 2022, San Francisco Arthouse Short Festival, Paris Cinema Awards, and Tagore International Film Festival 2022, Mumbai International Film Festival India, and more. It was a sense of accomplishment to see my music poster featured on Billboard at Times Square, New York in 2022. The poster also received autographs from Bollywood Legends Shri Amit Kumar and Shri Sudesh Bhonsle who were in NJ for a concert during that time.
Last year The Consulate of India, San Francisco, awarded me for my work in the field of Art and Music, at an event organized by them in the San Francisco Bay Area.
I do feel satisfied with my creative work, and I hope to continue doing that. I am grateful to my audience and to major publications including The Hindustan Times, Times of India, India Today, Mid Day, Bollywood Hungama, Zee5, ANI, India Currents, India Post, India West who have published about my work.
Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
In the grand tapestry of my existence, Tony Robbins’ irrepressible enthusiasm ignited a fire within me. Amitabh Bachchan’s thespian prowess and cinematic legacy inspired me to tread the hallowed path of filmmaking. The venerable Shri Harivansh Rai Bachchan’s literary luminescence illuminated my creative consciousness. Satyajit Ray’s cinematic masterworks instilled in me a profound reverence for the art of storytelling. Raj Kapoor’s ingenious filmmaking and Feroz Khan’s style and zeal further fueled my passion. Yash Chopra’s iconic films, replete with romance and drama, left an indelible mark on my creative psyche. Deepak Chopra’s profound writings on spirituality and creativity harmonized my inner world. Stephen King’s masterful storytelling and Steven Spielberg’s cinematic wizardry inspired me to push the boundaries of my imagination. The confluence of these influences has been nothing short of transcendent, awakening a creative torrent within me. As I embarked on my filmmaking journey, I felt an insatiable hunger to craft stories that would captivate and inspire. The entrepreneurial spirit, fostered by Tony Robbins’ teachings, has empowered me to navigate the complexities of the industry. Amitabh Bachchan’s remarkable career has taught me the importance of perseverance and adaptability. Shri Harivansh Rai Bachchan’s literary genius has inspired me to explore the nuances of human emotion. Is there mission driving your creative journey?
As a filmmaker and music composer, my ultimate goal is to craft audio-visual content that resonates with people worldwide. I aim to inspire, educate, and entertain audiences through my work. By combining compelling storytelling with captivating visuals and music, I strive to create immersive experiences. My content will explore complex social issues, cultural diversity, and personal growth. I seek to challenge perspectives, spark meaningful conversations, and foster empathy. Through my films and music, I hope to leave a lasting impact on viewers’ lives. I am committed to authenticity, creativity, and excellence in all aspects of my work. My target audience is diverse, spanning cultures, ages, and backgrounds. I aim to reach a global audience, using digital platforms to maximize my content’s reach. Collaboration is key; I welcome partnerships with like-minded artists and organizations. I will experiment with innovative storytelling techniques, pushing the boundaries of conventional narrative. Education and social awareness are integral to my mission. I believe that art can be a powerful catalyst for positive change. By sharing real-life stories, I hope to inspire viewers to take action. I work a lot on my presentation style and aesthetics and keep learning and improving everyday. Sometimes it’s about breaking rules and applying innovative ideas. My art is a journey of self-discovery for me, while for the audience, it is an experience to visit realms both familiar and unknown. It’s like a love letter to the human spirit, a testament to the boundless potential of art to touch, to heal, and to inspire. Hollywood’s Alfred Hitchcock, India’s Bimal Roy are also amongst the people I admire and follow. In Music, there are so many people who have inspired me including, Shri Kishore Kumar, Shri RD Burman, Michael Jackson, Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Beethoven, Mozart, The Beatles and so many more.
