Stephanie, appreciate you joining us today. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
To me, success is about resilience and determination. It’s about not giving up, even when things don’t go as planned. I always struggled with that in my early adult life, I thought if it failed—that was it and I had to quit. Then I had a revelation one day, quitting is easy! The hard part is pushing through hard times to see the other side of it.
I’ve also learned the importance of asking for help. There are so many people out there willing to lend a hand or share their knowledge—you just have to be open and humble enough to reach out.

I’m the owner of Earthy Elegance Spa, a cozy little spot in Union, NJ where I specialize in full-body waxing, brow services like lamination and shaping, and skin rejuvenation treatments. I’ve been in this industry for over six years, starting at a well-known waxing company. Eventually, I decided to branch out on my own because I wanted to create a space where clients could feel completely comfortable and cared for.
My work is all about helping people feel confident in their own skin. Whether it’s a Brazilian wax, a perfectly laminated brow, or simply creating an environment where someone feels heard and seen, I’m here to make people feel good about themselves. What I think sets me apart is the experience I aim to provide—it’s more than just a service. I make sure my clients leave not only looking great but feeling great too.
One of the things I’m most proud of is the community I’ve built around Earthy Elegance Spa. My clients aren’t just clients—they’ve become like family to me. Watching their transformations and hearing how my services have made a difference in their lives is what keeps me going.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
Referrals have been a game-changer for me—there’s nothing more rewarding than hearing, “I came because so-and-so wouldn’t stop raving about you.” Social media has also played a huge role, helping me connect with potential clients and build trust before they even walk in the door. The combination of happy clients sharing their experience and an engaging online presence has been the perfect formula for growth.

Starting fresh after leaving a fully booked schedule at a well-known wax chain was a huge leap, and honestly, all the odds were against me. When I first opened my doors, I had zero clients—nothing to show for all the hard work and risk I’d taken. The hardest part? I had to take out my 401k to fund my business. I was terrified, but I knew I couldn’t stay in that toxic environment any longer. It was a tough decision, but I believed in myself and the vision I had for Earthy Elegance Spa. Slowly but surely, things turned around. The clients came, and my business grew in ways I hadn’t imagined. It was a reminder that sometimes you have to take risks and trust your gut, even when the future feels uncertain.
