We were lucky to catch up with Kat Kronenberg recently and have shared our conversation below.
Kat , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you share a customer success story with us?
I was privileges to meet a young boy on an anniversary trip with my husband. I felt led to gift him a personalized copy of my book DREAM BIG.. A year later, during COVID, his Mom messaged me on Facebook to tell me my book greatly impacted him. Former President Obama, Dr. Oz. and more recognized this young man for his brilliance and efforts to help hospitals on the front line. He went to all the neighboring hotels to collect masks, gloves, soap, and whatever he could to help these people safe. They had saved his life years earlier when he was sick. The young boy wanted to give back, and his Mom’s note said my book inspired him to believe that he could :) WOW! A true highlight in. my career, and my vision for writing these books!
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

Kat felt led to write the books she needed as a little girl. After the tragic loss of two siblings, Kat felt alone and scared. She felt like she had a hole in her heart. Kat banged around in the dark for years, trying to figure out how to see, understand her heart, love, and believe in anything again. In her quest for meaning, Kat discovered that love’s wondrous power, CATCH-M, can fill her heart no matter what is happening. CATCH-M has been so miraculous for Kat that she created The Live Big Series. Kat says, “I hope my books bring as much of love’s wonderful, powerful riches in my reader’s chest, homes, and classrooms as they have mine!”
Kat lives in Austin, Texas, with her husband and is the proud parent of two amazing boys, two beautiful adopted nieces, five fantastic grandchildren, and one four-legged friend.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
At age 43, I went to a symphony with my husband, and the idea writing a book hit me like a baseball bat. It was powerful, loud, clear, and something I knew I had to do. But I knew nothing about books. I did not enjoy reading growing up. I did not like the books we had to read for school, so I missed storytellings’ beauty, power, and importance. I had never even met an Author. I knew no one or anything about the industry. Plus, life was chaotic at the time with young kids, adopting my nieces, and losing both of my parents. Time, research, and learning about a new industry was demanding. I found SCBWI, Society Of Children Book Writers and Illustrator.
I got very involved and went to every writing workshop I could find. Finding my story took me years and a lot of bad writing. I wanted to quit. I even thought I was crazy at times. I must have misheard at the symphony what I needed to do. Luckily, I followed throug, and seeing a young child hold my book like a lifeline is a thrill. Plus, I hope it encourages others to listen to their hearts song and never give up. My first book took almost 10 years from the wack to seeing it in a child’s hand.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
My life as a young girl was hard. I had no social or emotional tools in life. My family was great, but when my brother died, we fell apart. We had no way to talk about anything. We did not ask for any help. We did not get any counselors. We just banged around in the dark, leaving each other alone, never talking, looking to the world and outer things to try to make it okay. None of it was good. Over the years, out of necessity, I became a seeker, a practical physiologist, a relational type of scientist, and a spiritual rock-turner, trying to find meaning in all the chaos. My LIVE BIG Series is a reflection of my quest. I hope that my books help families and classrooms find meaning in their lives together, and they use the secrets in my books to help themselves and each other and do good together.
