Brianna , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. The first dollar your business earns is always special and we’d love to hear how your brand made its first dollar of revenue.
I remember being at a point in my life where I wanted to create and work hard for something that I can call my own. I had many years of experience in catering and ran from there. I started off with making Bionico trays, Tostilocos & creating my water based ice cream with a topping bar by setting it up on a 6ft table with bowls. I remember trying to figure out how to advertise my business because I had barely started my Instagram page so I didn’t have many followers. So I started finding groups on facebook where people were looking for vendors & ran from there and eventually got my first booking. But I’d have to say participating in pop up events & meeting people.. advertising my business helped me the most! I’m so very thankful for everyone who has took a chance on hiring me.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Hello my name is Brianna but most know me as Bee. I have over 10 years experience in catering and started my business about 4 years ago. I’ve created a catering menu filled with delicious munchies, such as water based ice cream with a full customizable topping bar of fruit and candy, tostilocos, fresas con crema, aguas Frescas and so much more. Within these past 2 years I was able to have a catering table customized for my business to create a beautiful setup to serve my guests. I’ve also just added on a new carito with wheels that features somewhat the same set up. Additionally I offer various items available for pick up.. one of my most popular items is chamoy candy. Thank you
Can you talk to us about how you funded your business?
Literally just making up my mind that my business was the thing I wanted to do and just ran with it. Buying items whenever I could to get everything started
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Word of mouth, everyone I knew I’d tell them about my business and pass out business cards to help share around. Attending pop ups and telling everyone who purchased from me. Creating a Yelp and Facebook page for my business.
