When I relocated from Chicago to California, I wasn’t entirely sure what business path to pursue. My initial focus was clear: I needed to generate income. Real estate quickly stood out as an opportunity, so I became a licensed agent. While I enjoyed the transactional side of buying and selling, I found it wasn’t fully satisfying.
A pivotal opportunity came when I joined a development firm in Beverly Hills. Initially, I found the learning curve daunting. Navigating the intricate web of building codes and regulations was overwhelming, and I questioned whether I’d succeed. But I loved it. My mind started to work in new and exciting ways. I was both terrified and exhilarated by the challenges, but my passion to learn how to build a property kept me motivated.
After about four years of hands-on experience and contributing to the construction of hundreds of multi-unit properties, I gained the confidence to branch out independently. That’s when my entrepreneurial journey truly began. I’ve learned that you can’t predict everything that will come your way, but embracing uncertainty and staying open to growth is where the magic happens.
