Hi Rishika, thanks for joining us today. So, naming is such a challenge. How did you come up with the name of your brand?

I chose the name ‘Seattle Collective’ because it represents both my personal journey and my vision for the community. Though I’m not originally from Seattle, once I moved here, I quickly recognized the need for a distinguished social and event club where individuals—especially the recent graduates moving here —could gather in the heart of Seattle and build lasting friendships. While I recognized that newcomers are often seeking bonds, Seattle Collective goes beyond that: we curate exclusive events designed for people from all walks of life and of all ages, ensuring that everyone finds a space to belong.
The term ‘Collective’ was intentionally chosen to highlight my commitment to partnering with diverse communities, small and new businesses, and like-minded individuals to bring forth a rich array of events. Thus, we celebrate local businesses, unique venues, create enriching experiences and capture the essence of Seattle that makes Seattle so special!
It’s not just about having fun—though there’s plenty of that too—but about creating a safe space where people can engage in something meaningful while enjoying themselves. Ultimately, it’s about fostering collaboration, inclusivity, and celebrating community, creativity and connection.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

I graduated with a degree in Computer Science in the year 2022 and shortly after, I joined Amazon as a Solutions Architect in Seattle. In my role, I design AWS solutions for enterprise customers all around the globe and create highly scalable cloud architectures and projects that helps not only AWS customers but also the org internally. My work provides me with invaluable experience, challenges me to think creatively, and allows me to contribute meaningfully to the growth of the company. It’s fulfilling to see my efforts come to life, and I’m proud of the impact I’m able to make during my 9-to-5 hours.

Beyond my professional responsibilities, I’ve always had a passion for exploration and creativity. From 5 to 9, I dive into content creation, where I connect people with the unique experiences Seattle offers. My love for exploring Seattle initially drew me to Instagram, where I began sharing my adventures and discoveries. As a Seattle content creator, I share curated recommendations on local events, places to explore, and dining hotspots, helping both locals and newcomers discover the city’s hidden gems. I also partner with local businesses, restaurants, and venues to amplify their visibility and provide my followers with fresh, exciting experiences. In addition to content creation, I focus on growing Seattle Collective, a social and event club I founded to create opportunities for people to come together, make connections, and enjoy the best of Seattle. My time in this city, having moved here from Chicago, made me realize how much potential there is to foster a vibrant community, and Seattle Collective is my way of giving back. It’s a space where people from all walks of life can meet, share experiences, and build meaningful relationships

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?

My creative journey is driven by a blend of personal passions and the meaningful impact I see it making on others. For my content creation, my love for travel has always been a cornerstone. After starting my Instagram journey, I felt a newfound motivation to explore more—whether it’s new experiences in Seattle, venturing out on solo trips that push me beyond my comfort zone, or trying new adventures such as skydiving, skiing, sailing etc. These experiences have not only broadened my horizons but also helped me grow personally in ways I never imagined.

Another driving force is seeing the tangible impact of my work. Growing from zero to 5,000 followers in less than a year has been incredibly rewarding, not just as a milestone but because I know people are genuinely getting inspired to get out there and explore. It’s humbling to hear from followers who’ve visited a spot or tried an experience because of my recommendations. Beyond that, I’ve had the opportunity to connect with other travel creators worldwide through Instagram and other platforms, fostering a sense of community that keeps me inspired.

With Seattle Collective, my vision is about creating something much larger than myself—a vibrant social and event club that brings people together to build connections, explore the city, and have fun. It’s amazing to see how much joy and meaning our events bring to people, whether they’re new to the city or lifelong residents. Being invited to collaborate with local businesses and venues has not only allowed me to showcase unique places but also helped me contribute to promoting and supporting our local community.

Ultimately, both my content creation and Seattle Collective allow me to use my voice for good, whether it’s inspiring someone to step out of their comfort zone or fostering a sense of belonging in a big city. That’s what drives me to keep going and creating every day.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?

The most rewarding aspect of being a creative is the ability to express myself and my passions through my work. Whether it’s sharing my love for travel, capturing the beauty of everyday life, or bringing ideas to life through painting and art, creativity allows me to channel my thoughts and emotions into something tangible. It’s incredibly fulfilling to have an outlet where I can explore and express different facets of myself.

Another aspect I cherish is the freedom to create without boundaries. There’s no set formula or definition for creativity, and that lack of restriction opens the door to endless possibilities. Whether I’m improvising ideas for an event, painting something that reflects my emotions, or capturing spontaneous moments for content, I’m not met with resistance or rigid expectations. It’s about following inspiration wherever it leads and bringing those visions to life without friction.

Ultimately, creativity gives me the space to be authentic and explore my thoughts and ideas in their purest form. It’s not just about producing something beautiful; it’s about creating something meaningful that feels true to me.
