Cherrie, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

Hey guys I’m Cherrie and I am the owner and Ceo of Hair By Cherrie. I have been running my business successfully for about 3 Yrs now. I specialize in braiding, locs, quick weaves, and kids braiding styles. The styles i provide are very unique and different, my work is very nice, neat and precise. Everything I do I do it with a passion. I also picked up doing nails at the beginning of this year and it has been a great journey. The sets I provide for my clients are price friendly, Different than any average set and guaranteed to turn heads. I think the one thing that sets me apart from any other stylist is my work ethics. I’m a true hustler , a way maker and giving up is not a option, I am the generational curse breaker in my family. I have a 8 yr old son that looks up to me and everything I do I do for him , so when it comes to my business that’s like my second child. I ensure if you sit in my seat you will have a great experience from beginning to end. I am a very understanding stylist and I try to put my self in my clients shoes I believe that customer service is key to running a successful business because it is the customer that keeps it running. I am most proud of myself for not giving up when I didn’t have clients, when I didn’t see people booking, & when I wasn’t making money .I kept pushing, I kept posting, I kept making ends meet with what I had and behind it all I still had a smile on my face when I was sitting in front of my client. People don’t know the struggle behind your story but it is the struggle that builds you, it is hustle that makes you and it is God who blesses you with all the gifts and talents you have and without him I’m nothing. I would like everyone to know that when you see me slaying your hair or when you see me slaying your nails it’s more than just a job to me , it’s my passion, it’s my lively hood, it’s my dream and you guys are the ones helping me fulfill my destiny. Just remember the dream is free and the hustle is sold separately.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?

I would say being consistent in everything you do is the best source for new clients. When you do something do it with everything In you and give your all. Make sure to put out nothing but good work. Clients love a passionate stylist. Believe it or not clients can tell wether you are passionate or not in what you do by the way you handle them or handle your business. Make sure to remember that customer service is key, try to resolve complaints or problems with a great resolution. Make sure to put out your best work because word of mouth as a stylist is everything is what keeps your business growing.

Can you talk to us about how your side-hustle turned into something more.

Yes hair was most definitely my side hustle and I didn’t take it seriously because I didn’t think I was good enough. I was so scared to take it seriously because I knew it meant I could potentially be someone who I thought I could never be, I knew it meant that this was possibly bigger than me, but let me tell you once you stop putting a cap on who you are then you will grow, I never thought I Would be this far in my business today & I’m only growing from here, but with hard work, consistency, and dedication it’s possible.
