Laura, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
The Story Behind My Mission: Elevating Nail Care with Russian Manicures
Hello, everyone! My name is Laura Bektemirova , and I am 35 years old. I am a nail artist specializing in manicures, pedicures, and nail extensions. On December 15, 2022, I took the most significant step of my life—I completely transformed my world and moved to America. This was a 360-degree turn for me, and I am incredibly happy and grateful for how warmly America has welcomed me.
Now, one year later, I am proud to have my own beauty salon in Beverly Hills, where I bring joy to my clients by creating beautiful nails.
My mission is to bring a higher standard of nail care to my clients through the art of Russian manicures. For me, it’s not just about making nails look beautiful—it’s about precision, durability, and creating a clean and flawless result that truly lasts.
I’m passionate about this technique because it focuses on every detail: perfectly shaped nails, spotless cuticles, and strong, lasting finishes. Using hard gel and advanced shaping methods, I can create nails that are not only stunning but also resistant to lifting, chipping, or breaking.
What drives me is knowing that my work helps people feel confident and put-together. I’ve seen how something as simple as strong, beautiful nails can make such a difference in someone’s day-to-day life. This mission is about more than just nails—it’s about providing care, quality, and a service that people can trust to last.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My Journey: From Water Resources to Nail Artistry
I have a Master’s degree in Water Resources and Water Use, and for some time, I worked in my field of expertise. However, the salary was very low, and I realized that I needed to make a change. I decided to transition to the banking industry, where I worked in credit processing. While the work was stable, it was incredibly demanding, requiring long hours from early morning to late evening.
During this time, I began looking for an additional source of income, and I reflected on what truly brought me joy. I’ve always loved nails. Since the age of 16, I’ve done my own manicures, and I’ve always been fascinated by the art of nail design. It was more than a hobby—it felt like a calling.
Eight years ago, I took my first training course in acrylic nail extension and modeling. This marked the beginning of my journey into the nail industry. Shortly after, I completed additional training in gel manicure techniques. Over time, I fully transitioned into this field because I discovered how much I loved creating beautiful nails.
What inspires me the most is seeing the happy faces of my clients. Knowing that I’ve contributed to their confidence and joy gives me strength and motivation to keep improving. My goal is to create flawless, durable, and elegant nails that my clients are proud to wear.
Today, the hallmark of my work is quality and long-lasting results. My clients often wear their nails for up to 7 weeks without any issues—no breakage, no lifting, no problems at all. They return for their next manicure with nails that are still intact and beautiful.
I use only high-quality materials in my work, including hard gel and acid-free products. These not only ensure long-lasting results but also protect the health of my clients’ natural nails. My techniques and materials prioritize both beauty and care, ensuring that every manicure enhances the client’s overall experience.
Once you experience the precision and quality of my work, I’m confident you’ll find it hard to go to another nail technician. Creating strong, beautiful, and long-lasting nails is not just my job—it’s my passion.

Have you ever had to pivot?
My Journey: From Water Resources Engineer to Nail Artist and Business Owner
Two years ago, I made a life-changing decision to move to America. Before that, I worked as a water resources engineer, but my true passion had always been nail artistry. This passion eventually became my career, and last year, I took the bold step of opening my own business. Today, I’m fully focused on growing my nail studio, attracting new clients, and creating beautiful nails that make people feel confident and happy.
Over the years, I’ve built a wonderful client base of inspiring women from all walks of life. Among my clients are Hollywood stars, influencers, bloggers, mothers, bankers, and even the wives of prominent businessmen. I’m incredibly grateful to all of them for choosing me and trusting my work. They value not only the beauty of my designs but also the health of their nails, which has always been a top priority for me.
I constantly strive to improve my skills and deepen my knowledge. I invest in the best nail products to ensure both quality and care for my clients. I want to bring the excellence of Russian manicures to a wider audience in America because I believe this technique represents a higher standard of nail care.
Many of my clients tell me they had never experienced anything like my work before. They were accustomed to visiting salons where their nails would barely last a week. When I tell them their nails can stay flawless for 3-4 weeks, they often don’t believe me. But after a month, they return amazed, saying their nails have never been this strong, durable, or long. My techniques not only provide beautiful results but also help clients grow their own healthy, elegant, and natural nails, which brings them so much joy—and it makes me just as happy to see their excitement.
This journey has been both challenging and rewarding. Moving to America and starting a business was a huge step, but it was the right one for me. Now, I am fully focused on my craft—creating exceptional manicures and pedicures while continuing to grow my business. My goal is to introduce more people to the quality and beauty of Russian manicures, helping them see how transformative great nail care can be.

Can you open up about how you funded your business?
My Journey to Building a Business in America
When I first moved to America, I started from scratch. I didn’t speak English, and I arrived with only a small amount of money—just enough to cover living expenses for one month. From the very first day, I worked tirelessly, putting in long hours from morning until night. I dedicated myself to learning the language and improving my communication skills, often practicing with clients.
For a year and a half, I worked non-stop without taking a single day off. My focus was to save enough money to build a stable future. It wasn’t easy, but I knew that hard work was the only way forward. After I had saved what I felt was enough, I made one of the boldest decisions of my life: to open my own business.
Starting a business just two years after moving to a new country was a huge risk, but I believed in myself. It was a monumental decision, and I was determined to succeed. What made this journey even more special was the unwavering support of my clients. Many of them followed me to my new location and have remained loyal ever since. I am deeply grateful to them for trusting me and choosing to stay with me as I built my dream.
Through hard work, perseverance, and my growing skills, I was able to gather the initial capital needed to launch my business. It hasn’t always been easy, but I truly believe that hard work pays off and that those who are dedicated to their craft will be rewarded.
Today, I am proud to continue growing my business, improving my skills, and serving my incredible clients. I see this journey not only as a reflection of my own determination but also as proof that with persistence, faith, and a willingness to take risks, anything is possible.
