We recently connected with Kate Del and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Kate , thanks for joining us today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
I was asked to write a song for an event called Fearless Voices at the Cannes Lions Festival, and I felt an instant connection to the theme. I wrote a song called “Fearless,” and the inspiration behind it is deeply personal—it’s all about my daughter. She has this incredible way of making me feel unstoppable, like I can face anything with confidence and strength. The love I have for her pushes me to be braver, to take risks, and to show up in the world without hesitation. “Fearless” isn’t just a song to me; it’s a tribute to her and the way she inspires me every day to embrace my own courage. It’s one of the most special things I’ve ever created.

Kate , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Kate Del, and I’m from Youngstown, Ohio. Music has been a part of my life since for as long as I can remember. I’m a vocalist who loves to explore all kinds of genres, from jazz to pop, Musical Theater, and beyond. I am fortunate to gig a lot, performing at all kinds of venues, from intimate settings to larger, stages. While I enjoy experimenting with different styles, I feel most at home in jazz. It’s where I can truly let go and pour my heart into the music. One of my favorite things is working with friends and fellow musicians to create new sounds—it brings an authenticity and excitement that’s hard to match. This coming year is shaping up to be a big one for me, with singles and an album project on the way. I’m putting everything I’ve got into expanding my career, reaching new audiences, and performing on even bigger stages. It’s a thrilling time, and I’m ready for all the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Booking gigs and continuing to get out there to perform is always a lesson in resilience for me. It’s a constant reminder that the journey is never linear—it’s full of highs and lows, and there’s always room for growth. Every “yes” feels like a win, but even the “no’s” teach me something valuable. Rejection can sting, but it’s part of the process, and it only strengthens my resolve to keep going. Building a career as an independent artist means I’m always hustling, pushing through uncertainty, and figuring out new ways to get my music out there. It’s a never-ending work in progress, but I’ve learned to embrace the grind. The more I book, the more I grow, and even on the toughest days, I remind myself that resilience is the key. It’s all about showing up, continuing to put in the work, and trusting that the pieces will come together in their own time.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding part of being a creative is that it gives me the chance to constantly continue learning. I absolutely love the process of discovery—whether it’s exploring new sounds, mastering a technique, or gaining insight from other artists. Every project is an opportunity to grow, and every challenge is a chance to stretch my skills and push my boundaries. What excites me the most is that no matter how much I achieve, there’s always something new to learn, a new direction to take, or a new lesson to absorb. That feeling of being on an endless journey of self-improvement is so fulfilling to me. Creativity isn’t just about what you create, but about the evolution of yourself as an artist, and that’s something I’ll never get tired of. The learning never stops, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
