We were lucky to catch up with Deonta Young recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Deonta, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.

The Dope Gurlz Web Series project is extremely meaningful to me because of the editing that will take place.. I recently did a web series about Marietta GA that was so unique but I couldn’t edit really because it was real live moments captured in real time.. with the Dope Gurlz project it will have a cast and I can get every angle and connect the dots.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

I’m Deonta Young from Marietta Ga, im a visual creater. I basically bring visions to life where people can see it. I’ve done weddings, sports games, Church anniversary, web series, award shows, parties, baby showers, proposals, commercials, proms, documentaries, interviews, campaign promos, and etc. I got into the business by simple trying to be different for my wife’s birthday. Instead of posting a picture with nice words under it, I took clips that I recorded of her while just being out and about and put them together and made a video. Still to this day I thank God for the gift he’s the head of what I’m doing In everything. That is what make me different from others, I have God with me and leading me all the way.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?

I remember starting Mayretta City Limits Web Series projects the goal was to do 12 episodes.. I had wanted it to be scripted with a cast but i could hardly get people to show up.. God grabbed the wheel and didn’t slow down nor stop. Now today we have over 30 episodes. Mayretta City Limits Web Series taught me to never give up and keep God First..

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?

Everywhere I go it’s like people know who I am because of my work they see on social media..some people I have never seen before come up to me amazed at some of the work.. also just seeing the faces of people I have created memories for.. those moments are priceless!
