Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Carolina Ferreiro. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Carolina, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear about the things you feel your parents did right and how those things have impacted your career and life.

My parents, Rosa and Carlos Ferreiro, made the difficult decision to leave Cuba and escape communism in search of a better life for our family. They gave up everything so that we could have a good future.
My father embodies entrepreneurial spirit. He earned degrees in chemistry and biochemistry in Cuba, was a professor at the University of Cuba for 18 years, and he authored several technical books. After emigrating to the U.S., he continued working for several medical laboratories and later became a successful entrepreneur. He founded Pharma Natural, Inc. in 2002.

Both of them were instrumental in teaching me good work ethics and instilling family values that I hope to pass on to my own children. My parents gave up so much and sacrificed for years, but they never gave up. That perseverance has inspired me to be a “go getter” and to dream big. My never-ending faith in God is also a guiding light in my life and I owe that to my parents, too.

Carolina, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

I am a mother of three, a wife and a business owner driven by the desire to help others live a better life. I truly believe that serving God, my philanthropic heart and entrepreneurship are what fuel me! After studying business, I built a successful pharmacy business, which I sold to join my father in 2013. I immediately focused on developing Pharma Natural’s contract manufacturing program and expanding the company’s operational capacities.
My “why” is centered around Fragile X syndrome, a genetic disorder that can lead to developmental delays, learning disabilities and social and behavioral problems. This is a cause that is close to my heart. My niece and nephew were diagnosed with Fragile X and being a carrier myself, it’s important to spread awareness and utilize the expertise of our research and development team to develop a line of products that can help people with Fragile X syndrome.

In addition to our focus on Fragile X syndrome, our company is dedicated to manufacturing all-natural products to help with conditions and diseases, such as immune response, diabetes, weight management, pain and inflammation, and cognitive disorders. We have innovative product launches in the works, including Knockout Menopause, a successful brand collaboration with television personality, life coach and creator of the “40 is the new 20” movement Laura Posada. This line of menopause relief products will be available at 18 Walmart stores across Puerto Rico in the summer.
In 2021, Pharma Natural was certified as a Women Owned Business by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), the largest certifier of women-owned businesses in the country and a leading advocate for women entrepreneurs. We were also a finalist in the EY Entrepreneur of the Year 2021 Florida Awards. Most recently, we are honored to have been named a Manufacturer of the Year finalist 2022. The best is yet to come, and my team and I couldn’t be more excited!

Pharma Natural is licensed and registered with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). We are also NSF and ISO-9001 certified.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?

I believe integrity, quality & value has allowed me to build a reputation of trust within our market. From the very beginning our marketing budget was very minimal so to compensate for that. I began to invest in relationships where I can add value to my client. I made sure to always strive to deliver an innovative product with a great price. Purpose and Passion continue to be the fuel to my why.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?

I The most effective strategy for me to grow my clientele was investing in relationships & networking. Treating my client as a business partner investing in their vision. Looking for opportunities and executing on ideas that added value to my existing clients. Most of my clients come through recommendations of satisfied clients.
