Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Dayana Gonzalez. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, DAYANA thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Owning a business isn’t always glamorous and so most business owners we’ve connected with have shared that on tough days they sometimes wonder what it would have been like to have just had a regular job instead of all the responsibility of running a business. Have you ever felt that way?
I am definitely happier as a business owner. Not only does it give me control over my time, but it also allows me to make a positive impact on others, especially the truck drivers I work with. However, owning a business comes with its challenges, and there are times when I wonder what it would be like to have a regular 9-to-5 job with fewer responsibilities.
I remember one particular moment when I was juggling several issues at once: a shipment that wasn’t arriving on time and a client who needed immediate answers. I felt overwhelmed and thought, “Wouldn’t it be easier to have a regular job and leave these problems behind at the end of the day?” But then I reminded myself why I started this journey: I wanted to build something that would allow me to grow while helping others do the same.
Upon reflection, I realized that every challenge makes me stronger and brings me closer to my goals. Being an entrepreneur also gives me the flexibility to be present for my family, something I wouldn’t trade for anything. So, even though those thoughts may cross my mind from time to time, I always come back to feeling grateful for choosing this path.
Additionally, I work with my best friend at my company, which makes this journey more enjoyable. She is a great support because she shares my vision for this service, and together we have clear objectives.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Ever since I was a child, I’ve dreamed of becoming a businesswoman, owning my own company, and achieving financial and economic independence. That dream has stayed with me for many years, and throughout my life, I’ve seized every opportunity to bring it closer to reality. My greatest motivation has always been my son; he has inspired me to face challenges head-on and persevere, even during the toughest times.
The idea of starting my own business didn’t stem from a single moment or circumstance—it has been a constant part of my desire for self-improvement. I’ve always believed that while being a mother comes with significant responsibilities, it doesn’t mean we should set aside or give up on our goals. My business is the result of years of hard work and making the most of every opportunity that came my way.
Today, I am proud to say that I’ve built a company that not only allows me to be independent but also serves as an example for my son and other women with similar dreams. I want my clients and followers to see that, with determination and passion, barriers can be broken, and dreams can be achieved, no matter the obstacles.
My transportation and logistics business specializes in dispatch services, including load tracking, invoicing, and real-time updates. Beyond coordination, my mission is to support drivers by helping them optimize their time and increase their earnings. I also offer training to individuals who want to learn this profession and start their own ventures because I believe in the importance of sharing knowledge to help others grow.
What truly sets me apart from the competition is the close connection I build with my clients. My husband is a truck driver, so I understand firsthand the sacrifices involved in being away from home. This personal experience allows me to empathize with drivers and provide a service that goes beyond technical support—they feel heard, supported, and valued.
Additionally, my background in business administration enables me to make informed decisions and manage my company effectively. I combine my academic knowledge with personal experiences to ensure the success of my business. This balance between human empathy and business expertise is what makes me stand out.
I always treat my clients the way I would want to be treated. I put myself in their shoes and ask, “What would I want someone to do for me if I were in their situation?” That ability to understand their needs and provide genuine, human-centered service is what truly sets me apart.
One of the greatest joys in my work is seeing the trucking companies I collaborate with grow and thrive. For me, it’s not just about my company’s growth—it’s about growing together. Knowing that my efforts contribute to the success of others motivates me and brings immense personal satisfaction. My goal is for my clients and me to move forward together, achieving success as a team.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
One of the moments that truly tested my resilience occurred when a load valued at $100,000 was rejected at a receiver. It was a critical situation, as this load represented a significant potential loss for the owner-operator. Although my primary responsibility as a dispatcher was to monitor the load, I felt compelled to step in and find a solution.
I immediately began communicating with all the parties involved: the client, the owner-operator, and the broker. My priority was to gather all the necessary evidence, such as photos and videos, to prove that the driver had fulfilled his responsibilities by transporting the goods from the origin to the destination. I also made a conscious effort to remain calm and convey that calmness to the driver, the client, and the broker, reassuring them that we could resolve the issue together.
In the end, I successfully demonstrated that the rejection at the receiver was not the driver’s fault. The case was resolved without any losses for the owner-operator, and the experience strengthened my relationships with all parties involved.
This challenge was a true test of my resilience. Despite the pressure and responsibility, I managed to stay focused, communicate effectively, and show the empathy needed to reach a solution. It reminded me that even in the toughest situations, with calmness and determination, great challenges can be overcome.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
A pivotal moment in my life came when I decided to leave my home country, Ecuador, and move to the United States. While in Ecuador, I balanced the responsibilities of being a student, a worker, and a mother. During that time, I discovered the dispatch field and decided to start my own business independently. It was a period of intense hard work and dedication, where each day brought challenges but also opportunities to grow and strengthen my vision as an entrepreneur.
Initially, I managed my business from Ecuador, but I always aspired to expand it. When the opportunity arose to move to the United States, I made the difficult decision to completely change my course. This meant moving with my son, leaving behind my family and everything familiar, to a country where I wasn’t certain my business would succeed. Despite the uncertainty, I was determined to build something bigger and more solid.
A key pillar of support during this journey was my husband, a truck driver. His firsthand experience on the road gave me valuable insight into the challenges drivers face and how my business could help them overcome those obstacles. His unwavering encouragement was instrumental in keeping me focused and motivated to pursue my dream.
Once in the United States, I not only expanded my services but also transformed my business into a more professional and structured operation. I was able to tap into a larger market, connect with more clients, and further develop my entrepreneurial vision.
This major shift in my life was a significant challenge, but it allowed me to grow both personally and professionally. I learned to adapt, to be resilient, and to trust in my abilities. Taking that risk is something I am deeply proud of because it enabled me to build the business I have today—helping others thrive while continuing to achieve my own goals.
This experience taught me that, while change can be daunting, with effort, perseverance, and a clear vision, anything is possible.
