We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Nisha Noel a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Nisha, thanks for joining us today. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
It all started as just a side hustle for me. I was balancing a variety of things—selling clothing, hair, even making holiday baskets—while also selling plates. But as I started to focus more on one thing, everything began to come into sharper focus, and I realized my true purpose in life: serving others.
The idea came to me as a beautiful vision that gradually took shape in my mind, and eventually, it became a reality. This time, I knew it was different. I felt that this vision was meant to be, something I was truly called to do. As I continued to practice and refine my skills, I saw progress in each and every client I worked with, and it confirmed for me that I was on the right path.
It was right there that I realized the private chef business was more than just a business—it was an opportunity to create an experience. People were paying for convenience and good food, but what they really craved was connection. They wanted someone to come into their homes, prepare a meal that was tailored to their tastes, and allow them to reclaim the intimacy of the dining experience.
The idea felt exciting because it was personal and flexible. In a world where restaurants were often overcrowded and impersonal, I saw a niche where I could offer something special: meals made with love, time, and an intimacy between one another.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
PW Kitchen LLC, I’m a private chef with a passion for crafting memorable culinary experiences. My journey into the private chef industry was anything but traditional. It started as a side hustle, with me juggling various ventures all while also selling home-cooked plates. As I explored these different avenues, I began to realize that my true calling was to serve others through food. Cooking had always been a way for me to connect with people, but it wasn’t until I started focusing on it more seriously that I began to see my purpose clearly.
The turning point for me came when I started to lock in on this vision of becoming a private chef. I had this powerful feeling that it was something I was meant to do—something bigger than just making a meal. I felt that this was my calling, and every step I took in pursuing it felt like I was fulfilling a vision that had been “ordained” for me. The more I honed my craft and worked with different clients, the more I realized how much I was able to offer them—not just a meal, but an experience that brought them closer together.
My services are centered around creating personalized, high-quality meals tailored to the specific tastes, dietary needs, and preferences of my clients. Whether it’s a private dinner party, a small family gathering, or a special celebration, I come into their homes, take the stress of cooking off their plates, and deliver a memorable dining experience. My focus is on crafting dishes that not only taste incredible but also bring people together. I want my clients to enjoy the food and the company, without worrying about preparation or clean-up.
What sets me apart from others in the industry is my commitment to making every meal feel unique and personal. I don’t just cook a menu— I create a tailored experience based on my clients’ preferences, stories, and special moments. For me, it’s about understanding the people I cook for and the context of the meal, whether it’s a romantic dinner, a family celebration, or a corporate event. I bring my knowledge, expertise, and creativity into every plate I serve, ensuring that the food resonates beyond just flavor.
One of the things I’m most proud of is the way I’ve been able to build trust with my clients and cultivate lasting relationships. It’s not just about the food; it’s about the memories we create around the table. Many of my clients return for multiple events, and that kind of loyalty means everything to me.
What I want potential clients, followers, and fans to know is that I’m not just in the business of cooking. I’m in the business of making people feel something when they eat. I believe food should be an experience—something that nourishes not just the body, but the soul. My work isn’t just about preparing a great meal; it’s about delivering an experience that lets my clients relax, connect, and enjoy their time together. I’m committed to bringing something special to every table, and I’d love to be part of creating your next unforgettable meal.
Have you ever had to pivot?
I remember when things weren’t going to well, business was extremely slow I was just losing faith. I just had to take a step back and re group, just to piece things together, once that took place it wasn’t a set back, it prepared me for what’s to come. Sometimes in life we can’t always think that a set back is failure, use that time to gather all the pieces together and come back stronger than before
Can you talk to us about how your side-hustle turned into something more.
Yes, my side hustle eventually became my full-time business. Over time, I realized my passion for cooking could be turned into something bigger. The turning point came when I started offering personalized meals as a private chef, and I began getting repeat clients. Word of mouth spread, and I took on larger events, which helped me scale. The key milestones were getting my first clients outside of my circle, building a loyal client base, and eventually booking out enough to go full-time. Today, I’m proud to say my passion is my career, and I’m constantly growing and evolving.
Looking back, I can see that the transition from side hustle to full-time business was a natural progression. It required a lot of hard work, dedication, and a belief that I could build something meaningful around my passion for cooking. Today, I’m proud to say I’m not just a private chef—I’m someone who’s built a brand and a service that people truly value. And the best part? I get to continue growing, evolving, and doing what I love every day.
