We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Sarah Cucuzzella. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Sarah below.
Sarah, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Alright, so you had your idea and then what happened? Can you walk us through the story of how you went from just an idea to executing on the idea
The story of Aussie FIT began at 15 when I joined the gym and discovered my passion for fitness. At 16, I made the decision to pursue a career as a personal trainer, starting with individualized coaching and later expanding into group fitness. I returned to school to study nursing, but my heart ultimately led me back to fitness.
Over the last 20 years, I’ve trained in Melbourne, Toronto, and New York—experiences that have taken me around the world and shaped my approach to fitness. The real turning point came when I became a U.S. citizen. it was time for a new challenge—something bigger for my future. So, I built a brand.
I began by hiring a life coach to help me set goals and clarify my vision. From there, I surrounded myself with people who had been through the process of building a business before me. I asked questions, found experts to help me create the brand, logo, and website, and built the support system that continues to fuel me today.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m Sarah, founder of Aussie FIT. I’ve always seen the gym as my happy place, a space for both mental and physical growth. I started out as a member in group fitness classes, quickly falling in love with the energy. After becoming a personal trainer, a fellow instructor encouraged me to try teaching group fitness. Though I was shy and nervous, I took the leap—and I’m so glad I did. I love the dynamic energy group fitness brings, creating a sense of community where everyone feels connected.
Aussie FIT is all about creating personalized training that fits your goals and lifestyle—whether through one-on-one, small group, or virtual sessions. I focus on flexibility and a personal touch, making fitness accessible for everyone.
What sets Aussie FIT apart? It’s the genuine impact I’ve had on my clients, helping them feel stronger, more confident, and empowered, inside and out.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
A pivotal moment in my journey was moving to New York. Coming from Australia, where fitness wasn’t about auditions or entertainment, I had to adjust to a new environment where it felt like I was auditioning for Broadway. I pushed through, networked, and kept showing up. It taught me resilience—how to adapt to challenges and keep going, no matter how uncomfortable. And if you don’t get the gig, you show up again, take the feedback, and keep pushing. If you want it bad enough, you’ll make it happen.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I typically don’t focus on building a huge social media following. For me, it’s more about real connection. I use social media to interact with my clients, share what I’m doing, and build a community. It’s a space where clients can reach out, engage, and get a glimpse into my world, whether it’s fitness tips, personal stories, or updates on my business. My advice for those just starting out? Be authentic. Focus on creating genuine relationships, rather than chasing numbers. If you’re true to who you are, the right people will find you.
