We recently connected with Miguel Angel Sanchez Hernandez and have shared our conversation below.

Miguel Angel, appreciate you joining us today. Alright, so we’d love to hear about how you got your first client or customer. What’s the story?

After my Graduation from Cal State Fullerton Ive always had the idea to do not work for someone else and i create my first company in California called Design and Animation Studios Inc. I remember i started searching clients through friends and social media sharing my talent and explaining that it was to gain experience and giving everything for free during one year. Then people started recognizing my work and it was when i started charging , i don’t remember specifically who was my first client that paid me but i remember it was great to feel noticed for my work.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

My name is Miguel Angel Sanchez Hernandez, I was born in in Mexico City in 1988. I love sports but my favorite sport is soccer, swimming and going to the gym. I consider myself very active , handworker ,and always trying to create and do things that could help others physically , mentally and emotionally. I completed my elementary & high school education in Mexico, and in 2009 I came to the United States as an international student to study art animation, graphic design, and film. I started my college education in Mount San Antonio College in walnut California where i graduated in 2012 achieving my transfer to Cal State Fullerton in orange county California. In my university i kept gaining social and artistic skills to be ready for “JOB” after my graduation in 2016. Since little i had a clear vision of what i wanted for my life, and work at a “JOB” or be under someone’s supervision wasn’t on my dictionary and mindset.
Here in California people “live to work” and the little time that people’s have free is just to rest from “JOB” or spend it on traffic failing in the nightmare of triangle of 40. The triangle of 40 is 40 hours of work a week, for 40 dollars an hour during 40 years of their life.
90 % of people living here in California live like that and that is where i decided to open my businesses to be in top 5 or 1 percenters living in USA and never change time for money.
Nobody should decide how much they pay you for your time , everyone is valuable and in California nobody can survive with a normal “JOB” stands for Just Over Broke.
I understand that not everybody have the same mindset as mine and is ok for them but not for me.
In 2016 i create Design & Animation Studios Inc, (@dnastudioscorp) and over the years i started making my company a successful business of Marketing, Photography and Videography helping any kind of business in their needs. Over the time my company started gaining more and more clients and now is a solid business.
After a few years in the industry and watching how money and businesses work in USA i started studying different industries such as real state, modeling, restaurants etc. In 2018 i started working directly with some restaurants in Los Angeles helping them for their marketing needs , then i realize that restaurant business is a great business in USA. During these past years i met different kind of people from dishwashers to restaurant owners and i started absorbing all that knowledge and understanding how the business work , then after covid i realize that with my connections, friends and my creativity could help me to do another successful business.
2 years ago i started creating a Restaurant Concept with one of my friends and business partner and we are about to open our first location in Ontario California in January 2025.
The Restaurant is called TKLA Restaurant (TEQUILA) and I’m sure is going to be a success as well, I’m putting all my effort and love to this project and people will loved it.
I’m telling this short story because it wasn’t easy, the first year in business i give for free almost all my work to my clients to show how was my work, but my dedication and hard work paid off. Now i can decide what work to take and not to take any work.
This past September i helped a former Colombian soccer player to sponsor his Guinness World Record in Hollywood. It was the greatest vertical descent controlling a soccer ball without touching the ground under one hour achieving 325.55 meters (1068.07 feet). Now my businesses have a Guinness World Record Certificate as a sponsor and is something I’m very proud as well.
I really want to encourage people to think out of the box and telling them that everything is possible and limitless , but everything starts from the mindset and the clear objectives.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?

I remember that my first contact with social media was on 2007/2008 with myspace and hi5 , those platforms were strictly just to be in contact with friends and family. Then i started with facebook and instagram , those platform helped me to reach clients once i started my business making everything much easier in order to find clients or promote my work. The main thing on social media is to find your niche and post consistently so people can see that you are a reliable and disciplined person. Then people with similar interests as you will start following and sharing your pages and that is how you get a presence on social media world. Also is very important the interaction with your audience , always be organic and talk or message with your people , that is a plus.

How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?

I remember when i was going to graduate from cal state fullerton my intention wasn’t go out and find a job. I wanted to create my own source of income and i started with a small investment of 800 dls buying an alienware used computer and software , then i started doing small graphic design jobs. I started working for free for almost a year and then i start making money with clients here and there.
