Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Fernanda Granados. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Fernanda, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today If you could go back in time do you wish you had started your creative career sooner or later?
This is a tough question but I know that If I had started educating myself sooner in music, I might have had more time to refine my talents and skills. However, I think the experiences I gained before fully committing to my music career shaped the way I approach my art. Moving to Las Vegas recently has reminded me how important timing is in any journey. And now that I really analyze the journey I’ve had, I’m grateful to start at 33 because I wouldn’t have a mature approach towards my career as I would’ve at 18.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m a singer, songwriter, and performer. I love the stage. Originally from Nicaragua, I started my journey singing covers in local venues and eventually performing on larger stages, including a memorable collaboration with Franco de Vita.
What sets me apart is my ability to adapt to various genres and settings while staying true to my authenticity. I’ve performed in everything from musicals to intimate clubs, always striving to deliver something fresh and meaningful. My experiences as a singer and a branding professional give me a unique edge in presenting myself and my art in ways that resonate with both clients and audiences.
I’m proud of my resilience and growth as an artist. Performing alongside Franco de Vita was a career highlight, but what truly fulfills me is hearing how my music has impacted others. Launching my original song ‘Misery,’ inspired by personal struggles, was a turning point—it reminded me of the power of vulnerability and connection. I’m also told a lot that my voice soothes a lot of people which I really like. I like having a positive impact on others however possible.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
Being able to tell my story myself! I don’t want to tell my story through other people’s art anymore. Covers are good and they put money in my pocket, but I’m all about writing and telling my own story now. I’m an abuse survivor who lived that hell for almost a decade, and I am sure there are more people like me who want to feel accompanied in their pain! Why not write about it and sing about it? We deserve to be heard loud and clear. I deserve to tell the truth and stop drowning alone. If speaking my truth heals me and makes art, that’s what will truly make me feel fulfilled in life.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
I used to believe that perfection was the ultimate key to my success—that every performance, every song, and every decision had to be flawless to be valuable. Trauma gave me that hehe… This mindset led me to overanalyze my work and compare myself to others constantly, which, in hindsight, drained the joy out of my creative process and turned al of my plans to nothing.
Over time, I realized that my authenticity and my vulnerability matter way more than perfection. Audiences connect with real emotions and imperfections because they’re human. Unlearning this idea of perfection freed me to experiment with my artistry, take risks, and embrace the messy, beautiful process of creating. It taught me that growth comes from showing up as you are, not waiting until you think you’re ‘perfect.’ Plus, corporate LOVES to hear you’re a perfectionist and I’m a rebel to corporations now lol.
This shift in perspective not only made me a better artist but also deepened my connection with my fans, those guys have stayed in this crazy journey for a while and I see them. They’ve reminded me time and time again that it’s the heart behind the work that resonates the most.
