We were lucky to catch up with Megan Taylor recently and have shared our conversation below.
Megan, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Risking taking is a huge part of most people’s story but too often society overlooks those risks and only focuses on where you are today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – it could be a big risk or a small one – but walk us through the backstory.
The Risk I Took to Build Face to Face Skincare
One of the biggest risks I’ve ever taken was opening Face to Face Skincare. After 13 years of working in various spas and med spas, I reached a point where I knew I wanted more control over my career and the services I could provide. I dreamed of creating a space that truly reflected my vision—a place where I could build meaningful connections with clients and offer personalized, high-quality treatments.
But stepping out on my own was terrifying. I had a stable job, a steady income, and a family to support. The thought of leaving that security to start my own business felt overwhelming. I wrestled with the “what-ifs”—what if it failed? What if I wasn’t ready? What if I let my family down?
Despite the fear, I took the leap in June 2022. I poured everything I had into opening Face to Face Skincare, from countless hours of planning to significant financial investment. It was a labor of love, but also one of the scariest things I’ve ever done.
Looking back, it’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. The journey hasn’t been without challenges, but the rewards have been incredible. I’ve built a loyal client base, grown as a professional, and created a space I’m truly proud of. Most importantly, I’ve shown my kids that taking risks and following your dreams can lead to something amazing.
This experience taught me that sometimes, the biggest rewards come from stepping outside of your comfort zone. It’s not always easy, but it’s always worth it.

Hi, I’m Megan Taylor, Master Esthetician and owner of Face to Face Skincare in Westminster, Colorado. I’ve been in the skincare industry for over 15 years, and my journey started with a passion for helping people feel confident in their own skin. After graduating from the Aveda Institute Denver in 2009, I worked in several spas and med spas across the Denver area, gaining invaluable experience in both traditional and medical aesthetics.
In June 2022, I took a leap of faith and opened Face to Face Skincare. I wanted to create a space that felt welcoming, where clients could feel truly cared for while receiving personalized treatments designed just for them. At Face to Face, I specialize in custom skincare solutions, speed waxing, and airbrush tanning. I also offer advanced treatments like chemical peels, microneedling, and LED therapy to help my clients achieve healthy, glowing skin.
What sets me apart is my dedication to education and customization. Skincare isn’t one-size-fits-all, and I take the time to understand my clients’ needs, goals, and concerns. I’ve earned numerous certifications over the years to stay at the forefront of the industry, ensuring that I provide the most effective treatments and solutions.
One of the things I’m most proud of is the trust I’ve built with my clients. Skincare is deeply personal, and I feel honored that so many people have chosen me to guide them on their journey. Skincare is such a personal experience, and people want to work with someone they trust. I make it a priority to connect with each client on a personal level, understanding their unique needs and goals while delivering exceptional results.
Beyond that, I’ve leveraged social media to share my expertise and showcase my work. Posting before-and-after photos, sharing skincare tips, and highlighting my services has helped me connect with a wider audience. Engaging with followers by answering questions or addressing common skincare concerns has also been key in establishing myself as a trusted professional in my field.
I also believe in giving back to the community, which has helped build my brand’s visibility and reputation. For example, I sponsor the local high school Poms team, assisting with funding and skincare education. Supporting my community has been a rewarding way to grow my business while staying true to my values.
Ultimately, my approach has been to combine excellent service, authenticity, and consistent engagement to create a loyal client base that continues to grow organically.

Another key factor has been my personalized approach. I take the time to truly listen to my clients’ concerns and create customized solutions tailored to their unique skin needs.
