We were lucky to catch up with Katsiaryna Asipik recently and have shared our conversation below.
Katsiaryna , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today One of our favorite things to hear about is stories around the nicest thing someone has done for someone else – what’s the nicest thing someone has ever done for you?
One of the most meaningful acts of kindness in my life happened unexpectedly during a challenging time in my career. After closing my first shop in Belarus, I started working from home, trying to rebuild my business through Instagram. It wasn’t easy, and I often felt unsure about the future.
Everything changed during International Women’s Day. Suddenly, I started getting more calls and orders than ever before. Clients kept mentioning they had seen my bouquets online, but I had no idea where. Eventually, I found out that a popular local platform had featured my work in an article about where to buy flowers for the holiday.
This unexpected recognition brought me thousands of new followers and allowed me to fulfill more orders than I ever imagined. It gave me the confidence to keep moving forward and reminded me of the power of community and support. Later, I contacted the platform to thank them, but since it was a team decision, no one person took credit. I was so grateful that I sent them flowers and chocolates as a token of my appreciation. That moment not only helped me pay off my debts but also inspired me to pursue my dream with renewed energy.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Katsiaryna Asipik or just Kate. My journey into flowers started with a deep love for nature in my childhood and a fascination with creating beauty with my hands. Over the years, this passion grew stronger and eventually turned into a full-time career. In 2014, I opened my first flower shop in Belarus, which was the beginning of my professional floral journey. It has now been more than a decade since I started this journey.
I specialize in creating floral arrangements for weddings, corporate events, and private clients. My focus is always on capturing emotion through flowers. What sets my work apart is my dedication to clean, modern designs that still feel warm and personal.
Since moving to Miami, I’ve worked with many incredible clients and brands, and I’m proud of the relationships I’ve built along the way. You can explore my work, process, and collaborations on Instagram @kateasflowers
For me, flowers are more than just arrangements; they’re a way to create meaningful connections and unforgettable experiences.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
When I started my floral business in Belarus, I was chasing a long-held dream. I opened my first flower shop, full of excitement and big plans. But as much as I loved what I was doing, I quickly realized how many mistakes I had made. I chose a location without enough traffic, underestimated the costs, and took out a high-interest loan to fund the business.
For a year and a half, I worked in the shop alone, every single day, without a break. Every penny I earned went toward covering rent and paying off my loan. There were moments when it felt impossible, and I questioned whether I could keep going.
As I shared earlier, everything changed during one intense weekend when I suddenly received an overwhelming number of orders. I worked nonstop for three days, without sleeping, to fulfill all the requests. It was physically and emotionally exhausting, but by the end of it, I had made enough to completely pay off my loan. I still remember the incredible relief and pride I felt in that moment, as though a huge weight had been lifted off my shoulders
That experience showed me the power of resilience and hard work. While there are still moments today when running a business feels overwhelming, I always think back to those three days. It reminds me that no matter how tough things seem, pushing through can lead to incredible results.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
When I moved to Miami, I had to rebuild my audience from scratch. At first, I only posted pictures of my floral work, but I quickly realized that people want to see the person behind the business. Once I started showing my face, sharing the process of creating bouquets, and telling personal stories, my followers became much more engaged.
Collaborating with bloggers also helped me grow my audience. While I gained new followers from these partnerships, I learned that numbers don’t matter as much as having real, engaged people who are interested in your work. I’ve also formed strong relationships with clients, some of whom became friends and now recommend me to others.
The most valuable lesson I’ve learned is that building an audience comes from being authentic and connecting with people. Show your personality, share your creative process, and don’t be afraid to talk about your values. People want to trust the person behind the brand. My advice is simple: be yourself and focus on creating genuine connections with your audience.
