We were lucky to catch up with SoaR Zephy recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Zephy, thanks for joining us today. Earning a full time living from one’s creative career can be incredibly difficult. Have you been able to do so and if so, can you share some of the key parts of your journey and any important advice or lessons that might help creatives who haven’t been able to yet?
Creating a source of income through the gaming industry took lots of patience and responsibility. I started earning money through Twitch streams at the age of 18 back in 2017. It began when I graduated High School. With years of gaming and finally getting a grasp on Twitch revenue, I remember receiving my first check, and immediately thinking this has to go into upgrading my PC parts. Not a single thought about spending it on materialistic stuff that never benefited me. I became obsessed with that for years and still to this day. I always made sure my investments and my career was taken care of.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I stepped into the gaming industry at a very young age. Call of Duty was one of the first games I picked up and developed a competitor mindset. Originally I was coached, then later competed in online tournaments and created content for people to enjoy & learn from. In 2017, I joined one of the best gaming organizations, SoaR Gaming.
Now that I’m 25 years old, I’ve created so many memorable moments competing against some of the best players on the game through tournaments & accomplishing ridiculous challenges. There’s too many to count but from what I can remember are, challenges that contained world record kill games, sniping only nuke in every Call of Duty, sniping nuke in Search & Destroy, and a lot more. I currently make content to teach/coach people on Call of Duty, helping the youth & stream on Twitch daily with my audience called the “Zeppers Peppers” community. A significant nickname to call my viewers as my branding revolves around a pepper.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
The destination is to leave a great legacy behind. Not just simply playing video games and being skillful at it, but to inspire to those who need it most. It can range from learning something useful from a video, utilizing the entertainment that I’m providing them as an escape to get their mind off things,& being remembered as someone that was cool, inspirational, and wise.

How did you build your audience on social media?
It took me 10-15 years to build. Consistency, passion, patience, & discipline were one of the key factors to help me build. Utilizing all my social media platforms and constantly doing research on what works. Understanding what people want to see and feed them that, but in your own niche. Staying on top of trends and diving deep on how people made their breaks into the internet. Simplify things as much as possible. Overcomplicating something will only drive the viewers away. Get straight to the point! Inspiration is a huge factor into creating content, so get passionate! The algorithm changes constantly, so if you’re not keeping up, the people won’t keep up with you!
