Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Bella Matasic. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Bella, thanks for joining us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
We’ve all heard the cliché: “Follow your dreams.” But how many times have we brushed it off as unrealistic or just another motivational quote?
I get it. For years, I didn’t believe I could truly be an entrepreneur. I thought that there were certain “special” people who had it all figured out, while I was stuck on the sidelines. I believed the narrative that success was reserved for the lucky few. The dreams I had were buried under fear, self-doubt, comparison, and the belief that I wasn’t capable.
Then, one day, something changed.
It wasn’t some grand moment of enlightenment. It was simply the realization that I was tired of waiting for the perfect conditions. I was tired of letting fear hold me back. I had to ask myself a question that hit me harder than I expected: “Do I want to live in fear, constantly wondering what could have been? Or do I want to embrace the challenge and create the life I’ve always dreamed of?”
That was the turning point. I made a choice. I decided to take action, despite the fears, despite the doubts. And that’s when everything started changing.
I started taking responsibility for my life and my dreams. No more excuses. No more waiting. No more wishing. I had to go out and take what was mine.
Today, I’m solving problems—big and small—whether it’s designing an invention to keep birds out of mailboxes or building a business that aligns with my vision for the future. But more importantly, I’m working on solving the biggest problem in my life: becoming the person I need to be to achieve my wildest dreams.
Now, I want to share what that journey looks like, raw and unfiltered. It’s not about the polished version of success—we’re all told. It’s about being real and pushing through the doubts.
This is just the beginning, and I hope my story encourages someone else to take the first step toward theirs. It always starts with the first action.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
About Me & My Business / Brand
My tech journey started in high school engineering, where being first to finish an electrical engineering project lit a spark in me. That excitement quickly met reality when I realized I was surrounded by classmates who’d been coding since they were kids. Talk about a humbling start!
Since then, my path has been anything but straight. I’ve tried my hand at everything from a swim coaching business to podcasts, from inventions to startups. And you know what? Most of them didn’t work out. I’ve had a failed swim coaching venture, a blog that never took off, two podcasts that fizzled, two inventions that weren’t quite ready for their time, two partnerships that taught me tough lessons, and two startups that gave me a real-world MBA in perseverance.
These experiences led me to what I do now through Dune Media LLC: helping businesses grow through strategic storytelling and tech solutions. We focus on practical solutions like setting up direct booking sites for Airbnb owners and helping brands build their digital presence.
What Sets Me Apart
I’m not here to pretend I have all the answers or that success comes easy. What I bring to the table is the hard-won knowledge from every failed venture and the determination to keep pushing until things work. I understand firsthand the grind of building something from nothing.
What I’m Most Proud Of
Without a doubt, it’s my ability to get back up after each setback. Every “failure” has only fueled my drive to succeed. I’ve learned that persistence isn’t just about working harder – it’s about staying true to your vision while being smart enough to adapt your approach. This journey has taught me that the only real failure is giving up on what you believe in.
What I Want You to Know
I believe in taking action, even when things are uncertain. Every successful project started with someone willing to take that first step, despite their doubts. I’m here to share what I’ve learned along the way and help others turn their visions into reality – messy first steps and all.

Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
– 10X by Grant Cardone fundamentally shifted my perspective. It shook me out of my victim mindset and showed me what real hustle looks like – not just working hard, but working at a scale most people aren’t willing to consider. The book completely reset my standards for what it takes to hit ambitious targets and opened my eyes to the critical role of building a powerful brand.
– Atomic Habits by James Clear transformed how I approach daily improvement. Instead of seeking massive changes, I learned to focus on getting just 1% better each day. It’s about building systems and habits that align with your future self, whether that’s becoming a more effective manager, a sharper business owner, or a more impactful creator.
– Good to Great taught me one of my most valuable leadership lessons: success isn’t just about having great people – it’s about having the right people in the right roles. This principle has become central to how I build and structure teams.
– The Daily Stoic has been my guide to maintaining perspective and personal growth. It taught me that pursuing business goals is inseparable from developing character and wisdom. I use its teachings daily for reflection and maintaining focus on what truly matters.
– Day Trading Attention revolutionized how I view content creation. It drove home that you’re literally one post away from a breakthrough – whether that’s landing a major client or discovering a massive opportunity. The key is showing up consistently and focusing on steady improvement, not immediate perfection.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
I’ve found success through a two-pronged approach: social media for long-term relationship building and cold calling for immediate results. Social media isn’t a quick win – it’s a marathon that pays off through compound effect. It’s given me the platform to connect with an incredible number of people, leading to organic networking and business opportunities I could never have accessed otherwise. As for cold calling – yeah, it’s as uncomfortable as everyone says, especially when you’re starting out. But here’s the truth: it works when you commit to the volume. You have to be willing to hear ‘no’ fifty times to get to that one ‘yes’ that changes everything. The key is understanding that each ‘no’ gets you closer to that ‘yes.’
