We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Andrea Schuckenbrock. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Andrea below.

Andrea, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?

For many years, I worked in the medical field doing direct and indirect patient care. In March 2023, after realizing that it was no longer a good fit for me, I left the industry. It wasn’t something I had planned to do at that time, and I didn’t have a back-up plan in place for employment. After having a three-hour conversation with a dear friend/mentor of mine, I determined it was the best decision to make. But, it was one of the scariest things I’ve ever done. It felt like I was blindly jumping off a cliff because I was leaving the highest paying job I’ve ever had for the unknown.

Prior to making this decision, I had completed a few different certifications, in hopes that one day I’d be able to help people and animals in ways that have helped me in my own journey. Around this same time, I had also been involved in assisting my friend with horse rescue and rehab. Both of these things are passions of mine, and I had always dreamed they would become my reality.

By summer I had two different opportunities manifest for me. The month of June brought the inception of Energetics by Andrea, and by September the concept of Wild Hearts Wellness had been conceived, and in November our non-profit application had been approved.

Energetics by Andrea is a reflection of my own healing and spiritual journey. I offer animal and human Reiki sessions and end of life care – all soul level work. My animal sessions are geared towards pets who have endured abuse, neglect, or have health issues. My human sessions help people manage the stressors in their life, and I help them find ways to heal themselves and live a better existence. My end of life sessions are for those who are transitioning to hospice. These sessions are powerful because they help the person release burdens they’re carrying, so they can free themselves of those things going into the afterlife. These sessions don’t take the place of traditional medical care or religious guidance because this is all energetic work. I also book home and land clearings for people’s homes, businesses, and plots of land, and my specialty is paranormal clearings. This work is very rewarding for me because I’m able to help others in unconventional ways. I work with local clients in Kansas City, but I also have the ability to reach others worldwide with Zoom sessions.

I am also the vice president and co-founder of Wild Hearts Wellness in Drexel, Missouri. Our 501(c)3 non-profit was born because my partner Stacey Anthuis and I saw a need for additional outlets for people who were struggling with mental health and other life challenges. We partner the rescue horses that we’ve rehabbed, with clients who are looking for a peaceful place to connect with nature and these incredible animals who offer amazing healing benefits. All sessions are donation only because we want everyone to be able to afford these life-changing experiences, no matter what their financial background is. Ages 5 and up are welcome to participate. Our organization is only a year old, but it’s been incredible to see the impact our program has had on our community!

Throughout all of these huge life changes, one thing has been crystal clear for me; what is meant for me will find its way to me. Surrendering to this process has allowed for the free flow of my life purposes to come through. I always encourage others to follow their passions and dreams, and trust that it will happen no matter how scary it may feel!

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?

I’m a recovering perfectionist. For a lot of my life, I thought my success was defined by the absence of mistakes, and in my mind everything I touched needed to be perfect. This mentality spilled over into my professional life, my athletic career, and my personal life. As I’ve gotten older, evolved, and grown in my own awareness, I’ve realized that is the furthest thing from the truth. In actuality, what does bring me success in every avenue of my life is consistency. It’s been the times I’ve shown up for myself even when I didn’t want to. The times I wanted to quit because things felt too hard, but I continued on anyway. The times I made mistakes, but I didn’t let them cripple or define me, and I kept going. My personal motto is consistency over perfection because perfection is the thief of joy and success.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?

The two biggest qualities I believe that are foundations for creating a positive reputation are transparency and integrity.

For example, we are very transparent at our non-profit, Wild Hearts Wellness, because we want our followers, clients, and donors to know the details of where we spend their hard-earned money when we receive donations from them. This practice is guided by our own moral compasses and our desire to give our followers transparency. This is one way we choose to build trust with our supporters and within our organization.

The work I do through Energetics by Andrea is very personal work for clients because it’s soul level work. During my sessions, I help people release things they’re carrying that isn’t serving their best interest, I help them find ways to live a better existence, and I teach them how to help themselves through energy work. I don’t take that lightly, so I hold a high moral standard and responsible for myself and the work I do. Empowering my clients to be the best version of themselves also requires transparency from me, and I believe that has set the stage for my reputation.

Having a good reputation doesn’t mean that mistakes or wrongdoings don’t happen. It means they’re acknowledged when they happen, so that positive change and growth can occur in the future. I think that also shows a high level of integrity and transparency that allows clients to have faith in my businesses and me!
