We were lucky to catch up with Amy Behimer recently and have shared our conversation below.
Amy, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to hear about the best advice you’ve ever given to a client? (Please note this response is for education/entertainment purposes only and shouldn’t be construed as advice for the reader)
The best advice I can give to someone living with an autoimmune diagnosis that want to feel and function at their personal best is this…gift yourself the support you crave. There is a narrative out there that if you want or need a coach to help you change habits and create a healthier lifestyle, it must mean you are lacking willpower or not trying hard enough. Wrong. Learning, changing, and growing in a way that feels good so it last for good is a skillset that most all of us were never taught. If anyone is at all curious about how support from a coach or other professional will work, go for it. Never resist an urge to do something loving for yourself, especially if it takes you outside of your comfort zone.

Amy, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m Dr. Amy Behimer, a health and wellness coach, doctor of pharmacy, and certified health and wellness coach. But what truly defines me is my journey of living with multiple sclerosis—a path that has shaped my life, my work, and my mission. I help people with autoimmune diseases create sustainable lifestyle habits in their thinking, feeling, and actions, empowering them to support both mind and body health.
I started Amy Behimer Coaching because I’ve been where many of my clients are now—feeling fatigued, overwhelmed, and uncertain about how to move forward. My own experiences taught me that managing an autoimmune condition isn’t just about controlling symptoms; it’s about proactively creating health. I realized that small, consistent habits are the foundation of lasting change, and now I’m passionate about sharing that approach with others.
What I Offer
I provide coaching services and resources designed to simplify the complexities of autoimmune health. Whether it’s building a personalized plan for daily habits, offering science-backed insights, or providing emotional support, I guide my clients to take back control of their health with clarity and confidence.
The Problems I Solve
Many of my clients struggle with fatigue, brain fog, stress, and a sense of being stuck. They’ve often tried rigid diets, overwhelming exercise plans, or a patchwork of advice that didn’t fit their unique needs. I help them cut through the noise and focus on practical, manageable steps to improve their energy, emotional resilience, and overall well-being.
What Sets Me Apart
My approach blends expertise with empathy. As someone who lives with an autoimmune disease, I truly understand the challenges my clients face. I combine this lived experience with my professional background in pharmacy and coaching to offer guidance that’s both deeply personal and rooted in science. Clients often tell me they feel seen and supported in a way they haven’t experienced before.
What I’m Most Proud Of
I’m proud of helping people move from surviving to thriving. Every time a client tells me they feel energized for the first time in years, or that they’ve found joy in their health journey, I’m reminded why I do this work. I’m also proud of creating a space where clients feel empowered to embrace progress over perfection and celebrate every small win.
What You Should Know About My Brand
At Amy Behimer Coaching, my mission is simple: to help people with autoimmune diseases master habits that create health and happiness. I believe health is not a destination but a dynamic, daily journey. Together, we focus on making small changes that add up to big results—always with kindness, simplicity, and a bit of humor to keep the process enjoyable.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
One story that stands out from my journey is the day I received my multiple sclerosis diagnosis. It was a moment filled with uncertainty, fear, and a flood of questions about what my future would hold. I vividly remember sitting in my doctor’s office, grappling with the weight of what felt like an overwhelming reality. But that moment also sparked something unexpected—an inner resolve I didn’t know I had.
I quickly realized that while I couldn’t control the fact that I had MS, I could control how I responded to it. I made a choice to face my diagnosis with curiosity instead of fear, treating it as a challenge to learn more about my body, my mind, and what I could do to support my health. Over time, I discovered the power of small, intentional habits—simple actions that gave me back a sense of control and helped me feel better, even on the tough days.
There was one particularly challenging stretch when I felt physically and emotionally drained. Every task felt monumental. It was during this time I leaned heavily into the idea of “trusting in the tiny.” Instead of focusing on big changes, I celebrated every small win—whether it was drinking more water, going for a short walk, or simply practicing self-compassion on the days I needed extra rest. Slowly but surely, those tiny actions added up, and I began to feel a spark of energy and hope again.
This experience taught me that resilience isn’t about powering through everything or pretending it’s easy. It’s about meeting yourself where you are, finding the smallest step forward, and trusting that even the tiniest actions can create momentum. Today, I carry that lesson into my work, helping others with autoimmune diseases find their own path to resilience, one small habit at a time.
