Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jasmine Mota. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Jasmine thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Almost all entrepreneurs have had to decide whether to start now or later? There are always pros and cons for waiting and so we’d love to hear what you think about your decision in retrospect. If you could go back in time, would you have started your business sooner, later or at the exact time you started?
If I could go back in time I definitely would have started my business sooner. My God Given talent was doing hair, I had been doing hair since the age of 12. However I was ambitious about going to school and getting a degree in Law. I married young and eventually had my son and my dreams and wants for myself changed. I began working in Law enforcement while going through a divorce; needing to provide for myself and my son. While working in a career job I was treated poorly because I didn’t have childcare nor a support system for my son. They didn’t care about me or my well being. I was in the process of applying with other agencies and wasn’t sure what I was going to do. Hair was never my passion it was always a side hustle for me. Oddly enough when I realized this is what GOD intended for my life I grew to love hair and became insanely passionate about all things hair. Strange enough I started complaining about work and started back doing hair and building clientele. All the while I was praying and talking to GOD about what I wanted. After all I went through in the department; I was terminated for a piece of paper and GOD elevated my life tremendously! Business started booming. I began investing in Salon Suites back in 2020, I wish I had done it sooner! I wished I had truly knew the power in believing in myself and all the things GOD could do in my life. Going in business for myself was the best thing I could have ever done for my life and if I could do it all over again I would have started it sooner.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

As a Business woman/CEO I have been through a many trials and tribulations but I am most proud of my wisdom and relationship of and with GOD. GOD is the main key and source of all succession in life in every faucet.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
The most pivotal moment in my life was when I was forced out of a career job by GOD! The significant of this point in time was that I was a new homeowner, single mom & becoming a full time entreprenuer all at one time. So many new things I was experiencing all at once at a young age. I didn’t have much of a support system but through GOD I made it through. I decided to make the most of my opportunity and step out on crazy faith and get Salon Suites. This moment in my life taught me more about faith than any other point in my life at that time. I couldn’t lean on anyone but GOD! I chose to pivot instead of remaining stagnant; I continued to soar. The most important thing about life is that you must never get complacent. We must always search beyond ourselves for something greater! we must always challenge ourselves to do more!
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
The hardest lesson I endured and overcame is to never allow life, love, circumstances, family & etc to get in the way of your Journey! I remember I chose humanly things, feelings and emotions over GODS decisions in my life and it cost me my beautiful home, my peace and my financial freedom! No matter what your day is going like; emotionally, physically or mentally you must always sustain! You must show up for yourself everyday. Never give others power over your life or your purpose! Wake up everyday and give your Day to GOD’s plan for your life!
