We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Christina DeRosa. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Christina below.
Christina, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Do you have an agent or someone (or a team) that helps you secure opportunities and compensation for your creative work? How did you meet you, why did you decide to work with them, why do you think they decided to work with you?
Absolutely. This is something I hold really close to my heart because I remember countless nights when I cried myself to sleep, convinced I’d never find the right representation. It felt almost easier to land a role than to secure a trustworthy agent or manager who genuinely believed in me. Those moments of doubt were crushing, but they also fueled my determination to keep going, no matter how many doors were slammed in my face.
Today, I’m beyond grateful to have such an incredible team backing me. My managers at DreamScope Entertainment, my theatrical agent Rebecca at Exclusive Artists Agency, my commercial reps at BBR, my agent Tina Presley at Presley Talent in New Mexico, and my Atlanta agent Tay Smith at SYTalent Agency—all of them have taken a chance on me and continue to champion my career. Their faith in me has been life-changing, and I’m filled with so much gratitude to finally say I’m surrounded by people who truly believe in my potential.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I was born and raised on Long Island, New York, as the baby of a musical family—picture me belting out show tunes and dancing around the house 24/7. My love affair with musical theater kicked off at eight years old, when I got to play Orphan Annie and a munchkin in The Wizard of Oz (yep, right alongside Natalie Portman, back when she was Natalie Hershlag!).
I scored a scholarship to Boston Conservatory for Musical Theatre, but I took “break a leg” a little too literally and fell right onto my knee during rehearsal. Talk about dramatic foreshadowing! I decided it was a sign to pivot, so I packed my bags for sunny Los Angeles and graduated from UCLA’s School of Theatre, Film, and Television.
These days, I’ve got over 70 film and TV credits under my belt. You can spot me opposite Lily Collins in Netflix’s thriller Inheritance, look for me in a slew of films premiering in 2025, and catch me guest-starring on Starz’s BMF. I’ve also shown up in Bad Moms with Mila Kunis, snagged a starring role in a Lifetime flick (Drowning in Secrets), and enjoyed series regular roles on Amazon’s Gravesend and Pure Flix’s Mood Swings.
My TV guest spots run the gamut—Black-ish, Jane the Virgin, Sam & Cat, General Hospital, Everybody Hates Chris, Reno 911!, Devious Maids—and that list eventually landed me in The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
But I don’t just live in front of the camera. I’m also the Executive Vice President of Film and Television at Kingvigor Inc. and work with D.I.G Entertainment, blending my business sense with my passion for storytelling. I manage writers and IP, focusing on female-driven narratives. On the producing side, I’ve teamed up on the short-form series Doxxed with two-time Emmy winner Mary Lou Belli and creator Elaine Loh, and I co-produced the feature film A Savannah Haunting. Faith-based projects that uplift and inspire are especially close to my heart.
You’ll also find me on social media—@ActressChristinaDeRosa—partnering with brands like Boiron, Herbal Face Food, and Princess Cruises. I love turning sponsored content into entertaining, upbeat posts for TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and X. Publications like Variety, Deadline, GMARO, and OK! Magazines have even given a nod to my style and presence online.
Outside of work, I’m all about giving back. I spent seven years as chairwoman of Face Forward, a nonprofit supporting survivors of domestic violence, served two years on a committee for the Academy of Television, and for over two decades, served at the LA Mission. Through all my channels, I do my best to spread positivity and encourage everyone to live their best, most fabulous lives.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
As an actress, resilience is basically my middle name—every single day brings some new twist, turn, or plot point that requires me to adapt on the fly. In this industry, if you can’t pivot and jump when the moment calls for it, you won’t just miss the boat—you’ll miss the entire fleet!
One of my biggest “resilience moments” happened in 2020, when the world and the entertainment industry suddenly came to a screeching halt. Instead of just sitting on my hands, I took a deep dive into social media—especially TikTok and Instagram—and started cranking out content like there was no tomorrow. I began posting “Living Mantras” little motivational pick-me-ups to set a positive tone for the week.
Then, I teamed up with a good friend to create a little talk show in my own living room called Kittens on the Couch. We basically transformed my couch into a DIY TV set, dishing about everything we love—pop culture, self-care tips, you name it. It was like a crash course in showrunning: I had to learn how to produce content constantly, juggle brand collaborations, and keep our audience entertained. Looking back, it was one of the most challenging yet rewarding things I’ve ever done… all thanks to a couple of kittens on a couch!

Any resources you can share with us that might be helpful to other creatives?
Oh, absolutely! There’s this little secret I wish I’d known about ages ago: Casting Director Maya Adrabi also happens to be a phenomenal headshot photographer (you can find her at https://www.mayashoots.com ) . My commercial agents shared her info, and I’m so glad they did. During our session, she made me feel so at ease—like we were just hanging out and having a blast. I even got to rock my favorite dress! The shots turned out fantastic, and let me tell you, they’ve already landed me some direct offers.
Another major shout-out goes to L.A. Mediaworks https://lamediaworks.com/ for my reel. Marc is practically a wizard—his hands-on approach and attention to detail are next-level. I’ve referred a bunch of fellow actors to him, and now I’m collecting “thank you, Christina!” calls on a daily basis. They’re both incredible resources that I wish I’d stumbled on sooner!
And ladies, if you want to look fabulous with clothing made with love in LA, you can thank me later for sharing Eva Varro with you. https://evavarro.com I recently wore some of her designs onset and the costume designers are now obsessed too. You can catch me in Beverly Hills wearing her dresses in the pictures. Use Christina10 for your 10% off.
