Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Nikki Edwards. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Nikki, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.
As a creative, I am always taking risks. Any time I put out content, there’s a possibility that someone isn’t going to like or understand it. Lucky for me, I’m a risk taker. The biggest risk I’ve taken professionally is turning my content brand into a podcast. Nikkilosophy is always evolving. Its started on Snapchat, then moved to Facebook live. Now it has evolved into a podcast. Every change it goes through is so I can better connect with my audience and reach more people. It was a risk because my fans (The Nik Force) was accustomed to seeing my face every Thursday, now they only hear my voice. To my amazement, the feedback has been incredible & they love it being a podcast.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I’m a natural at giving advice, its my God-given talent. The words I need to say just flow out of my mouth. I’m also an empath so I can feel their emotions and connect with them. People feel a sense of comfort with me so they trust my advice. I fell into content creation on accident. Back when I was in college, I would get on Snapchat and talk about different topics. People loved it. It was a hit. Years later, it has grown into a podcast. I am most proud that I am genuinely helping people. On Nikkilosophy, I don’t just talk about the fun, easy stuff. I talk about the hard stuff as well. That’s why people admire me. They know I’m not afraid to go against the grain.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
As a creative, one of my goals is to build a large, thriving online presence with a large fanbase. Organic growth takes time. That’s something I had to learn, understand and trust, Sometimes it is hard watching people who started making content after me, blow up before me. It had me questioning whether this life is meant for me or not. Its hard; but, this is when I have to be more resilient than I’ve ever been, it will be easy to give up; but why would I want to? I have to remind myself that I create because I genuinely love to do it. Reminding myself why I started helps me to keep going. I know my thriving presence is going to come, I just have to stay the course.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding this is knowing that I’m actually making a difference. My mantra is “If I’ve helped one person then I’ve done my job”. Over the years, countless people have told me how much my advice and content has helped them. I get messages on a daily basis from my supporters. It is very heartwarming. Sometimes it drives me to tears to know that I have created something this impactful. Anytime someone comes to me directly for advice, it makes my heart smile. Just knowing that someone respects and trusts me enough to ask for advice is amazing.
