Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jessica Osborne. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Jessica, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
The idea for my business was born out of both passion and a desire to fulfill my God-given purpose. As an educator, I loved teaching physical education and inspiring students to embrace health, discipline, and teamwork. But even in the joy of teaching, I often felt a stirring in my heart—a sense that there was something more for me to accomplish. I knew God had a bigger plan, one that aligned with my purpose and desire to make a greater impact. This realization deepened as I reflected on my own journey of balancing work, personal growth, and relationships, especially within my sorority. I saw how sisterhood empowered women but also recognized the challenges of staying connected while managing daily life. I realized there was a need for tools that combined organization, personal growth, and meaningful connections—tools that would inspire clarity and confidence while building stronger bonds of sisterhood.
Transitioning from education without a plan wasn’t easy, but it was a leap of faith I felt called to take. I worked part time until I fell upon a position that allowed me to have a flexible schedule to pursue my passion of starting J. Couture Innovations. My background in teaching gave me the skills to create tools that guide and inspire, and my faith gave me the courage to believe in the vision God placed in my heart. I wasn’t just solving an organizational problem; I was creating something unique that empowered women to live with purpose while staying connected.
What excited me most was the opportunity to merge my love for planning with my passion for sisterhood. This wasn’t just about a product—it was about helping women thrive in every aspect of their lives, while reflecting the intentionality and abundance that God wants for us. What makes J. Couture Innovations unique is its heart-centered approach. My products, like the Sisterhood Planner, are more than just tools—they’re a reflection of the values I lived as an educator: structure, connection, and growth. Through these tools, I’ve created a way to help women embrace their purpose while building meaningful relationships.
The feedback has been incredible, and it’s clear this was the path God intended for me. Seeing how my business has transformed within a year and knowing that I’m living out my purpose, keeps me inspired to continue growing and expanding this vision.

Jessica, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am a former educator with a passion for teaching, mentoring and inspiring others to live intentionally and with purpose. I started my career journey in physical education, teaching elementary students. With a bachelor’s in sports and exercise science from UCF and a master’s degree in health, human performance, and recreation from Pittsburgh State University, I originally imagined a future in physical therapy, maybe even working for my favorite team, the Jacksonville Jaguars. I spent a year in physical therapy school, only to realize that this wasn’t my calling. At a crossroads and unsure of my next steps, I turned to my biggest supporter and prayer warrior—my mom—who encouraged me to take a leap and consider a career in teaching. I soon found myself as a physical education teacher, forming strong bonds with my students and colleagues, who became like family to me.
However, I knew deep down that this wasn’t the final stop on my journey. Outside of work, I had always been the planner and organizer, the go-to person for coordinating events among my friends, family, and sorority sisters in Alpha Kappa Alpha. During the pandemic, I began creating a planner that covered all aspects of my life, from church and personal goals to sorority meetings and budgeting. At the time, though, life kept me busy juggling multiple jobs, responsibilities, and supporting others, and my dreams of creating something of my own were put on the back burner. Fast forward to 2023, and I found myself in a moment of transition, leaving my job in education with no clear plan. In the quiet of those uncertain days, I found myself turning to prayer, asking for guidance on my next steps as I ultimately fell back into the field of education, I was provided with a position in higher education that allowed me to pursue my business as well as fund it. One day, I reopened my laptop and looked at the planner I had started, and suddenly, my ideas began to flow again. I saw firsthand the power of sisterhood and how organization can transform lives, but I also recognized a need for tools that go beyond schedules- tools that empower women to prioritize their growth, connect with others, and fulfill their purpose. I took those years of ideas and finally brought them to life, creating the Sisterhood Planner—a planner that not only organizes but also empowers women in their goals, relationships, and ambitions. My business provides products like the Sisterhood Planner, which is designed to help women establish clarity, confidence, and connection in their lives as well as sisterhood journals and organizational to-do lists. I also design statement tees that represent passion, purpose, and innovation. My goal is to solve the challenge many women face: balancing their ambitions with the desire for meaningful relationships and personal fulfillment.
What makes my brand unique is the heart behind it. J. Couture Innovations isn’t just about selling planners or shirts—it’s about fostering a community of women who are ready to expand their vision, embrace their purpose, and support one another. My products are infused with faith, intention, and a focus on empowerment. They’re not just tools; they’re catalysts for transformation.
I am most proud of the leap of faith I took to transition from education into small business ownership to working hard to build through my career and knowing I’m walking in the purpose God has for me. J. Couture Innovations is about more than business—it’s about you. It’s about helping women live with intention, embrace sisterhood, and step into the identity of your next level. Whether you’re looking for tools to organize your life or statements that reflect your passion, my brand is here to inspire and support you every step of the way.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
When I first started building my audience on social media, it felt like stepping into uncharted territory. I didn’t have all the answers or a perfect strategy—I just knew I had a message to share and a passion to connect with others. Over time, I’ve come to realize that growing a presence on social media isn’t just about numbers; it’s about showing up, being authentic, and sharing what you love with the world. One thing I’ve learned is that social media is a constant learning experience. The algorithm changes, trends come and go, and it’s easy to get caught up in the ups and downs of engagement. But what keeps me going is the belief that consistency and authenticity always win. Every post I share is a reflection of my journey, my purpose, and my passion to empower others, especially women, to embrace their best selves.
What surprises me the most is how often people tell me, “Your content is so good—keep posting!” Hearing that reminds me that even when it feels like my efforts go unnoticed, someone out there is inspired by what I’m sharing. Those words of encouragement have been a powerful motivator to stay consistent and keep showing up, even on the days when it feels challenging.
For anyone just beginning to build their social media presence, my biggest piece of advice is to focus on what you’re passionate about and let that shine through. Don’t get too caught up in the metrics at first; instead, think about how you can provide value to your audience. Whether it’s through education, inspiration, or simply sharing your story, your authentic voice is what will resonate most. Even now, I’m learning something new every day. Social media is ever-changing, and each post is an opportunity to adapt, grow, and refine my approach. Some days are more successful than others, but I’ve learned to embrace the journey and find joy in the process. So, if you’re just starting or feeling discouraged, remember this: Keep going, stay consistent, and love what you do. That’s how you grow—not just on social media, but in everything you set your heart to.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
For a long time, I felt like I was running in circles, trying to figure out where I fit and what my purpose was. I navigated through several careers, often questioning if I was on the right path. What made it harder was watching my friends achieve their goals—they were hitting milestones, building careers, and living the lives they envisioned. Meanwhile, I felt stuck, unsure of where I was headed. There were times I felt left behind, like I wasn’t moving forward fast enough. But one day, I had a moment of clarity that changed everything: life isn’t a race. Each of us has a unique journey, and comparing mine to someone else’s wasn’t going to help me uncover the purpose God had for me. That realization brought me a sense of peace.
I began focusing on what made me feel fulfilled—teaching, mentoring, and helping others grow. I leaned into my love for education, and over time, I landed a job that I truly love, still within the field of education but in a way that aligns with my strengths and passions. At the same time, I embraced the dream of entrepreneurship creating my business. There were challenges along the way—doubts, setbacks, and moments when I questioned whether I was doing enough. But I’ve learned that resilience isn’t about having it all figured out; it’s about trusting the process and continuing to move forward, even when the path isn’t clear. What I’ve come to realize is that every twist and turn in my journey was preparing me for this moment. My experiences, struggles, and even the feelings of being “left behind” have shaped the person I am today. They’ve given me the perspective to appreciate my unique path and to celebrate every step, no matter how small.
To anyone who feels like they’re still figuring things out, I want to say this: your journey is your own, and that’s what makes it beautiful. It’s okay to take your time, to explore different paths, and to trust that everything is unfolding exactly as it’s meant to. I’ve found joy in pursuing a career I love while also following my passion through my business, and I know that this is just the beginning.
