We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Dr. Angie Bee a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Dr. Angie, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear your thoughts about making remote work effective.
Angie BEE Productions consists of a team that works completely remotely. From the audiobook narrators, to the book manuscript editors, to the audio engineers and the graphic designers. We all work from home offices and studios and this is the main reason we are able to keep our costs affordable for our clients. Brick and mortar studios and stores can elevate the costs of services. Therefore, our services remain affordable!
We are able to make this plan work because we function as a team, alerting a team member when a project is coming their way. Asking them for a start and estimated turn-around time, checking and rechecking on one another and communication with the client if there are changes or questions about their expectations.
A pitfall that we face is that we currently have only one team member per department – one youth narrator, one engineer, one book formatter and one editor. If anyone is unavailable, under the weather or simply declines a project, we may have to consider an alternate solution. I am trained to complete each assignment on my own, but clients are generally patient enough to wait on us, and we are grateful for that!
The non-obvious benefits are that team members are able to work as Independent Contractors, providing for their families without compromising. An obvious benefit is that our team members also solicit projects for the team to complete as well! Who better to “sell” a service to a prospective client than a member of the team that will be working on the project?

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
While I was still in high school, I was part of a team of youth that received a grant to produce a radio talk show. The microphone techniques and talk show strategies I learned have continued to make our on-air presence stand out from others. Yes, I know that many people host podcasts these days and most of those shows are remarkable. Our show(s) stand out, in part, because of that unique training I received.
I continued to receive trade school education from a school of broadcasting, while simultaneously taking college courses. Why is this aspect important? It is important to share with you because I teach each team member what I have learned! When you learn something, you should teach it to someone else.
The youth narrator(s) that we have trained learned microphone and reading techniques. We continue to cross – train our youth to read and review books. They learn public speaking and reading techniques as well. Someone invested in my youth and taught me, so Angie BEE Productions does the same for our youth interns.
My favorite accomplishment in the realm of our interns is our Y.E.A.P. Program. The acronym stands for Youth Entrepreneur Author Program; a virtual training that turns kids into authors and teaches entrepreneurial skills. Our flagship book was published during the pandemic and we enroll students during their summer and winter breaks from school.
The services that are offered by Angie BEE Productions include: radio and TV commercial production, flyer and book cover design and creation, workshop and conference presentation, speaking engagements for vendors, product and service providers, podcast production and TOUR scheduling to bring our events across the Nation. We also specialize is live and virtual fundraisers for non-profit organizations and causes. 2025 will be our third year raising money for Sickle Cell Awareness and Parental Mood Disorders, This will also be our 9th year raising Alopecia Awareness and funds for www.NAAF.org.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
The goal that drives my creative journey is Spiritual: I want to make God proud of the work that we do. I want Him to look at a flyer that we create and say “I told her to do that!”. I want Jesus to hear a commercial that we produce and smile when he says: “That sounds like someone that I know”.
As an entrepreneur, I want our projects to bring a joyful smile to each of our clients. I want our clients and their clients to be impressed by our audiobook narrations and I want them to enjoy our workshops and book signings. The income that we generate is a blessing and it sustains us, but the goal is to show a Spirit of Excellence that would make even the Angels applaud.

Do you have multiple revenue streams – if so, can you talk to us about those streams and how your developed them?
Angie BEE Productions stands on the scripture Ecclesiastes 11:2 which encourages us to have 7 or 8 different streams of income. Our income streams are as follows:
1. We create flyers for churches and events.
2. We produce commercials, both radio and video, to promote our clients.
3. Our syndicated radio show airs commercials from our clients, to promote their efforts.
4. We produce a 24-hour streaming broadcast fundraiser for non-profits. This serves our philanthropic desire, plus generates new clients that want our services.
5. We narrate and produce audiobooks, working with authors and publishers.
6. We create workshop events and book-signings to spread the Gospel of Christ and introduce our books to readers and listeners.
7. As an author, I write to share information and sell my books to generate income.
8. We assist writers in self-publishing and we publish books for others.
