Olivia, appreciate you joining us today. Naming anything – including a business – is so hard. Right? What’s the story behind how you came up with the name of your brand?
The name ‘Nip/Tuck Nursing AfterCare’ came to us as the perfect blend of professionalism and a little playful nod to the world of cosmetic surgery. It captures exactly what we do—providing High-quality, compassionate care to help clients recover after their ‘nip’ or ‘tuck’ procedures, with a critical care nursing edge that ensures their journey is smooth and safe.
Olivia, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m a nurse with 25 years of experience, starting as a nurse extern while completing my nursing program. After graduation, I worked on a medical-surgical/oncology floor for three years before transitioning to the ICU, where I spent 21 years honing my critical care skills. While I thrived in the fast-paced, high-stakes ICU environment, the intensity eventually led me to seek a new chapter in my nursing journey. Over the past five years, I’ve worked in PACU, pre-op, and plastic surgery, which inspired me to establish Nip/Tuck Nursing AfterCare.
How I Got Started
I recognized a significant gap in post-surgical care for plastic surgery patients. After undergoing extensive procedures such as mommy makeovers, body transformations, bbls, face lift, breast augmentation/reduction, etc. patients are often discharged with minimal support at home. Many rely on caregivers at home who may lack the medical expertise to handle the critical first 48–72 hours of recovery. With my critical care background and passion for patient-centered care, I knew I could fill this gap by providing expert, compassionate, and personalized post-surgical nursing services.

My cofounder is my sister, who is also a Nurse Practitioner with critical care experience. The idea for Nip/Tuck Nursing AfterCare was born during one of our conversations. I was sharing my frustration about the aftercare services I’d worked with, where caregivers often lacked experience, or nurses didn’t have the critical care expertise needed for high-risk recovery periods. Together, we realized we could create a service that filled this gap, leveraging our combined skills and backgrounds to offer unparalleled care for post-surgical patients. It was the perfect partnership—rooted in shared expertise and a passion for providing exceptional care.
