We were lucky to catch up with Kersten Davis & Ashley Boggs recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Kersten Davis & Ashley Boggs thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
At Pages of Glass, LLC, we are dedicated to celebrating the literary world by amplifying the voices of independent authors, supporting small bookstores, and uplifting creators of unique bookish merchandise. Our mission is to curate a space where readers and creators alike can connect, discover, and share the magic of storytelling. Through thoughtful partnerships and a commitment to quality, we aim to foster a community that values creativity, passion, and the joy of supporting small businesses in the literary world.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Pages of Glass, LLC came out of a love of reading. Ashley and I grew up in small towns in Southern Ohio with our family. We moved to Northwest Ohio at different times, but fell in love with our local bookish community. Pages of Glass will be in many vendor fairs in 2025 leading to our own event on August 2, 2025.
We have different bookish merch we will be offering at these fairs, which include crocheted items, clothes, bags and more! Come August 2, 2025, Pages of Glass will be hosted our first annual bookish market. We will be hosting independent authors, indie bookstores, and local craftsman with bookish merch. We are very excited and plan to host this event yearly!
Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
Ashley and Kersten are sisters! We are very close in age, just under 2 years apart. Ashley works as an educational audiologist and Kersten works as a special education professor. We both strive for inclusivity and want a welcoming place for every reader in Northwest Ohio.
Our relationship as sisters adds an extra layer of warmth and trust to their partnership. We not only share a strong personal connection, but our ability to communicate openly and collaborate creatively allows them to overcome challenges and innovate together. Whether brainstorming new product ideas or discussing what we should do next, our synergy shines through in every aspect of the business. We share values of community, creativity, and supporting small businesses make our company more than just a business—it’s a family-driven mission to make a positive impact on the literary world.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Honestly, reaching out directly to independent authors, businesses and bookstores personally. We have searched high and low finding people we want to see at our event in August. Toledo is situated in a very unique place, between Cleveland, Detroit, Ann Arbor, Dayton, Fort Wayne, etc that we can reach out to indie authors and curators in those major cities outside of our own!
