We were lucky to catch up with Jhordyn Auguste recently and have shared our conversation below.
Jhordyn, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
The most meaningful project I’ve worked on to date is the work I do with Hi.Res model agency. I originally met the founder Ria (@channelria on Instagram) at a bar called Paramita in Detroit. We connected so fast with both of our professions being in the fashion industry. From there we followed each other on Instagram and fell into our crafts, so we didn’t really keep in touch. That connection was not in vain because a couple of months later we ran into each other at a house warming party of someone we didn’t even know we both knew! We couldn’t have reconnected at a better time, everything happens for a reason!! Even though I’ve only been apart of the team for a short while, being around genuine women that actually care about what they’re doing and intentional about how we present our work to the world has been so healing for me. That’s why being apart of meaningful projects and working with genuine people is so important. It shows in the work!
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Absolutely! My name is Jhordyn and I’ve been a Fashion Stylist for 2.5 years, I started 2CoziFitz in October of 2022 and obtained my LLC in 2024. Through the years I’ve learned so much and have had the opportunity to work in so many amazing rooms with amazing people. Like most stylists, I started out with test shoots to build my portfolio. From there I submitted my work to various fashion shows in Detroit and New York, organizing my own passion projects and personal styling. The months of June to October I’ve had the privilege of having consistent work and I wouldn’t want it any other way. Some services I offer are styling for fashion presentations/shows, personal styling, brand development through styling and consulting. If you’re interested in working with me please feel free to email me! 2cozifits@gmail.com
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
Yes, giving my family a life they’ve never seen. Times weren’t always easy growing up but my parents made a way. They worked very hard to give me and my sister an amazing life and they did! So I just want to pay them back with the best vacations, invest in their businesses, buy some land…you know just creat some generational wealth while they’re still here. Another goal that’s driving my creative journey is having a loft in SoHo. I’ve been wanting to live in. New York since I was a kid and my dream was so have a loft in soho and a workspace there as well. God willing I’ll have it all!
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Having integrity. I think it is very important to do right by people, keep your word, don’t be shady. If you made a mistake fix it! No one is perfect and things go wrong all the time in the styling world. We just do our best to make sure they don’t happen. Being honest and transparent as well helped me and being myself. Styling isn’t about what you can do like someone else, it’s about being YOURSELF. You want your audience to like something because you came up with it. The last thing I want to mention is really caring about your work. You don’t need the most expensive items or the highest budget to create something extraordinary, especially not starting out. Put care into your work, find alternatives and be solution oriented!
